Ah, yes 1UPT does not make sense if you have tactical combat. I was talking about strategic combat. Tactical combat should handle 1UPT and ZOC mechanics...which it does in FE.

Strategic = Macro

Tactical = Micro

1UPT makes sense as in FE if there is a separate map you go to for combat.  If all the combat occurs on the main strategic map then 1UPT is less useful.

This game appears to not have separate tactical maps, instead being strategic only.

1UPT is One Unit Per Tile

I finally bought this game. It seems great, except I was having a few problems. So I went on over to their forums...and its almost a dead forum. Very few posts and even fewer recent ones. I tried an associated forum, Slitherine, and same thing. I wonder if the game did not sell well or something else. Just surprised the forums are so dead.

I would be surprised if a question or comment posted on the Slitherine forums didn't illicit a conversation within a day or two.  It's not a huge community, but it is an active one, and those boards seem to be their main base.  Here's a great post today by Ross - http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=173&t=50439&sid=53688c70151fafa22f5aa9254eb2d977#p476176

There's also some activity on the Steam forums, but more importantly, there is a great Steam group for multi-player.  Most folks probably just talk over games, the mult-player is very good.

i bought it and played a few hours. It's between good and not bad.

Seems to me AI cheats like hell, ICS seems to work, far too few factions, not sure about diplomacy but seems weak (well, not like it's different from other games) but it does work, it has some nice ideas and the "fresh meat" aura for us hungry gamers.

I think I'll probably play it for 40-50 hours in the next months so it's not like it's a bad investment when it comes to price/gaming hours.

Yep, between good and not bad.

Sadly I only have time to spend on great to excellent :(

Pandora just doesn't make the cut.

I am disappointed with Pandora.  Really wish for a reboot of Sid Meyir's Alpha Centauri....
