Skyrim: Dawnguard- PC ver not for 30 days after Xbox

I am always mystified why publishers do crap like this.

1) There are already Dawnguard spoilers all over the place now because of the Xbox 360 release, I am sure I will have already explored every aspect of the game in my imagination before it is actually released.
2) Do you think the gamer demographic is filled with reasonable and understanding members who won't feel any sleight by this?

I mean really, I own an XBox, but I played Skyrim on PC.

What Bethesda has actually done is pretty much ensured they will never get another dollar from me for a long time on any platform.

Well, I'm not reading anything about Dawnguard so that solves that problem.  :)

Second, for me, I don't ever buy the DLC/Expansions for the big games like this or like Dragon Age.  I've got the base Skyrim game plus mods which I have already played near 200 hours in.  I have no desire to pay (too much IMO) for this DLC.  I'll wait a year or two for the "GOTY" edition that has the game plus *all* the DLCs for half the price of the full game and then I'll enjoy the extra content.  That's always my plan which may not be a good one for you or others.

The good thing is that we will know if its worth buying or not. The xboxers will test it for the pc users.

No I won't. I don't buy annoying DLC that could easily be made to make sense.

I don't have a problem with the PC version being delayed if it means that it wont be rushed and inferior quality. I've seen many people say that they shouldn't have to choose between getting an inferior version and a late version, but thats the market reality.

Its not a big deal, there are plenty of other games you can play, and you don't have to read any articles or watch any videos of Dawnguard. Plus the PC version has tons of mod you can play around with if you are bored, which 360 doesn't get. 

 

I am also tired of DLC. I much prefer expansion packs, because DLC is much less content per dollar than we used to get. I have sworn off all $50+ games that have DLC and will wait till the game of the year edition. This saves me a ton of money because you also need a less powerful computer when you are running games that are 1-2 years old, and it gives plenty of time for modders to contribute.

Why the heck would you buy any big name release right away until you can get a gold edition with all the DLC in it once? And why would you let yourself get so mad that you refuse to enjoy a game you'd otherwise probably like, just because you had to wait another month for it? :S

Who cares?   30 days is not much. I remember being impatient like you from when I was a kid up til I was 16.

Also, the Xboxers will say if it's good enough.

 

As for spoilers, don't visit the Skyrim forums. I play Diablo III but I don't visit the Battle.Net forums since I don't want things spoiled (reading about the achievements did that!) and also because it's a cesspool. Nothing to gain there.

Because people are silly? I could have waited for the price to come down but I actually prefer to give Bethesda more money (since I can afford it) so hopefully they'll keep adding content for a long time and keep making awesome elder scrolls games. Guys there is NO OTHER COMPANY IN THE WORLD making games like Bethesda does. Yeah sure they tend to be buggy. Maybe I wish they'd release for all platforms at once but if they weren't doing what they're doing then my life would be less interesting as a result. The same goes for Stardock. I don't understand why people insist on biting the hand that feeds them.

It's a business at the end of the day, I'm sure they are releasing on xbox first because they think (no doubt correctly) this will net them the most overall sales revenue.

I also only buy the gold edition with all the expansions and DLC. In my mind Skyrim has yet to release. This is due to spending 30 bucks on Knights of the Nine. Fool me once... can't get fooled again!
