Minidumps/Desyncs as rampant as ever.(False error. WorkAround here, fix incoming)

Just saying, it's not techincally a "beta" anymore, and 3 of 5 games I tried to play on ICO today ended in a minidump/desync.  I really thought there was going to be more progress on this, not going to lie, wish you guys kept it in the beta phase for longer, because now the boost of players that accompanies the launch is going to be wasted, just as it was in vanilla sins, while the desyncs and minidumps chase away the player base.

lol-- Did you send the mini-dumb and saved game file to the feedback email ad provided?

...

just realize that this makes it hard for your "wishlist" games to occur.

Games can still go out of sync if people have differing data, bad mods, or modified exe's and other factors outside our control but assuming none of that is the case:

If you can send me the sync files from the two players who went out of sync and if possible, the last save game before it happened, I'll look at it personally. [email protected]

I think you got their attention. Now roll with the punches.

thanks blair, i sent them to you.  i appreciate the hard work in tracking them down.  i honestly would recommend cancelling this launch, rollback to the beta, take the lumps, and re-release with a much better product.  there is so much promise, but there are a few more stages of beta, even 1 more month of testing and coordination with the developers would make this a lot better.  no offense but there was like no real communication about balance and stability other than troll posts for the entire time after beta 3 until right before the launch, which was not really the best thing ever.

uum, Nightraider be realistic..The game developtment budget has been reached, launch has been launched and marketing has happened. From here on its up to you to keep supporting developers efforts to track down bugs when you can.

Nice use of pronouns.  Yes, everyone who enjoys this game must do nothing while i am the only member of the community who tries to track down bugs.  It is you sir, who must be realistic.  Please don't troll-bait me on the rare occasions that I am being serious and trying to provide constructive comments.  If you don't like them, that's fine, I guess the nice thing is I was not really talking to you or expecting much in the first place.  Now, it's your turn to make a snarky comment about me, maybe put in a personal attack about my mother.  Whatever you do, I won't be responding to you in this thread.

I also had 2 desyncs during a game today - we just saved it and then restarted it twice. Once we made sure all of us had auto-save feature turned off, no more de-syncs and the game finished fine. I think there is a desync that occurs if even if just one player has autosave turned on.

Thanks so much Ekko. I have confirmed that the desyncs are false reports based on players changing their autosave settings. Everyone should set it to true or all false (my vote is everyone should leave it on because that's the default). I'm fixing the code now and will put up a hotfix asap. The key here is that all players have the same setting to avoid the false reports.

If you do see an desync, it should be safe to continue. If the red letters are annoying, save the game and reload once everyone has aligned their autosave setting - the game hasn't actually gone out of sync.

Your not the only member who tries to track down bugs and you don't yet qualify for a riddle king insult. Nice try though.
