June 12th! It's tomorrow! Buckle up!

At long last, June 12th is just about here!

It's hard to believe how long we've (us and the Sins community) have been working on this.  Back at the start, June 2012 seemed impossibly far away.

But we wanted to make sure Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion was just right. Each new faction, each new ship and titan, each new victory condition got plenty of spot light in their own beta releases. We wanted to make sure the updated graphics engine looked amazing but also performed well for people.

I and the rest of the Stardock crew plan to be hanging out this week playing Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion online.  My Steam ID is draginol if you want to find me on there.

Good luck to all of us! Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

We're live!

Please tell me you are not fully up and running...because otherwise it looks like the launch notes are "Removed the word beta from the title of the game, lol"

Even the loading screen still says "This is not a finished product." etc.

Same here as of a quarter past noon central.

Looking into it.

I will be pissed if "going live" meant just removing beta references and using the current version as the retail.

That would be the ultimate trolling :D

I just mentioned to my friend that we've been trolled by Steam... through Steam.

Anyway, everybody still sittin' on .964 for version?

Who said I have any issue with Stardock?  I'm glarin' at Steam.  This has happened to other companies before.

We should be all set in 10 minutes gang. Sorry for the delay!

Finally updated.  Just need patch notes.

Just restarted steam and sins has a 104 meg patch downloading.

Also: For the record, Steam sucks. It's nothing but trouble time and again. It's part of why I vastly preferred Impulse. NTM the whole having 0 control over your games ( such as separate install directories...what if I want 1 game on my SSD, but another on my large HDD? Or the whole not even able to launch a game without Steam running, etc. )

Grumble grumble grumble. Try not to mind me too much. I loathe that program, but I'm forced to use it. I need to vent every now and then:)

Impulse doesn't exist anymore.  It's lost whatever it was to the shithole that is Gamestop.  It's Gamestop PC/Now.

Besides, it's a much smaller network compared to what Valve put together.

You venting is like a racist complaining about the people they are racist against.

Little did we realize June 12 was a huge brick wall of doom on which all our hopes and expectations for Rebellion would come to a crushed and fiery end.

Fix the bugs -should've pushed release date to July 12.

The game didn't have anywhere near as much bugs as some AAA titles get on launch.  Besides, it was quickly fixed.  Most people prefer to play through mods with friends, anyway.  General online play usually ends up being vanilla.

Argh.

Color me crazy...I still like the game and have confidence they will keep working on it like they always have.

Guess I'm just nuts like that.
