My take on the online play and what is needed for this game to be succesfull

Hi there

This is my first post on these forums. I have played trinity, though never online. I though rebellion sounded great and preordered for beta.

After playing a while online, here is my take on the problems and a few idea on how to solve them.

BIGGEST problem is the crashes, dsync, minidump etc causing multiplayer to be less fun, as most of the games are decided by that and not the actual play. There is nothing as frustration as the minidumps when your in position to win.

SO, how to fix this. With all games there will be problems while playing online, thus there needs to be a RECONNECT option when you login again after you crash. This will save the day for so many games and players joy of the game.

One idea could be to have the host auto-save the game, when a player wants to reconnect and then force all to reload. (I dont mean that you actually get to starting screen, just that the games tells you a player is reconnecting and then it starts to load, if needed.)
This should be a fairly fast way to have a person reconnect without being to anoying for everyone else.

I am by no means a developer, so if this is non-sense to you, take my post as an encouragement to make a reconnect option of any kind. You have a great game, but people will stop playing if you dont come up with a way to fix the above problems or a reconncet to work around them.

While the reconnect idea would be could, I'd rather they just fix the problem to begin with.  By the way, they are working on fixing the problem, but unfortunately hunting down the bug has proven to be difficult.

Completely agree with you that it ruins the game.

They can fix all the problems with the game and still there will be a need for reconnect as people can drop for other reasons as well. Making a reconnect will make the game enjoyable while they keep hunting down and fixing problems.

I have played HoN and other games for a long time and no matter how much info you get from testing etc, people will still disconnect for various reasons. Though if you can reconnect it doesnt matter that much. In Sins it´s game breaking

I know each minidump could be for a different reason (different bugs) but ever since turning off auto-save points in MP and deleting the accumulated auto save files I haven't had a single MD in the past few weeks and I did have several prior to doing that. Just my little anecdotal evidence if that helps anyone.

How do you turn off the auto-save in multiplayer, i have tried to find it in options, but with no luck so far.
