Having a problem with DL/DA ship designs in TA.

Old ship designs not appearing correctly in-game

Just bought the Ultimate Edition on Steam a few days ago, and am having a very irritating problem with downloaded ship designs made with older versions of the game.

In-game, nearly all of the ships I've downloaded have had their components completely rearranged when I view them in the designer. Only a handful of the designs appear to be unaltered.

I believe all of them were made in Dread Lords and Dark Avatar, so I'm assuming this is happening because I'm playing Twilight of the Arnor which is a little different.

Is there anything I can do to get them to work correctly?

As far as I know there's no way to convert them across.  Sorry.

Of course shipcfg files are all in plain text so in theory it might be possible to do by hand, if you knew what was supposed to attach to what.

I have taken one DA ship and changed to ToA ship but I never do it again. What a mess that was and I even took screenshots of what it was suppose to look like in DA to rebuild it in ToA.

I remember using some of those designs back in 2006 with Dread Lords.. Most of them were really well done.

It's a damn shame they can't be used with ToA without driving yourself crazy trying to re-create them in the designer or modify the shipcfg's by hand.

Well, some DO work fine in ToA. I wonder why..

Anyway, thanks for the link SaintMina. I prefer the Terran ship style and those look great.

Those ships are Terran styles and I like the ships zcroc amd midnight runner make.
