List of features removed in Windows 8

According to THIS article in The Register, Microsoft will remove the ability Windows Media Player has to play DVDs in Windows 8.

But that is NOT by far the only feature that will be removed from Windows 8. We all know about the missing Start Menu already, but THIS list is a real eye opener. I think we can safely say that Windows 8 will be the biggest flop since the invention of square wheels.

Ya'll know my opinion, but these 'features removed' lists tend to ignore that they were often either replaced or never actually used.  They're usually irrelevant to 95% of Windows users.  He was banging on the same drum about Vista and 7 and wishes we were all still on XP.

The RP performs better than I expected, it's awesome.  Still some unexpected compatibility glitches though.

In what sense do you mean 'perform'?  I'm genuinely curious.  Can you actually talk and chew gum at the same time with Metro8?  Thx.

Why would I need to?  I still spend almost all my time in the desktop, just like everyone else.

Though the WinRT apps are definitely responsive unlike the CP.  Still not going to be everyones cup of tea.
