play Fixed map games anymore?

There was a time people played fixed maps regularly?

Anyway, the biggest reason is that random is different while fixed maps benefit the player who is experienced on that map....

Fixed maps aren't generally any more balanced than random maps (the size of militia on uncolonized worlds as well as the number of extractors at a planet are still random), so a fixed map actually has very little to offer over a random map....

I'm not saying the random maps are amazing, but when the number of played games you have is in the hundreds or thousands, fixed maps can get boring....

Untill maps are not stupid, there is no reason to play them.

What about my maps?  Some of them might take too long to play to be practical, but many of them work out just fine.  If people could learn to play custom maps, it would eliminate wasted games where one team is at a large disadvantage based on its starting position.

except even your maps have uneven neutal counts, uneven planet bonuses, uneven resoruce rocks, and uneven militia.

It's why this game is seriously lacking a p2p map transfer protocol. But I thought they might have fixed that in rebellion no? Need to check info again.

My auto-install packs make it easy for anyone to download and install my maps within 45 seconds, and it isn't even necessary to close and reload the game.  But convincing people to do even that can be tough sometimes.  If you want to try some of my maps (for Rebellion), just tell people to go to:
