[MOD] Bailknight Graphic Mod for Rebellion

Well, the mod was taken down because of a misunderstanding about who's mod this was. Sorry, no mod.

Um... who are you.  Not to be snarky, but you've not been around that long and Rebellion isn't even out.  Also, Rebellion has a ton of new particles.  Lastly... You are neither Bailknight, nor Morgatu who has updated the mod for Trinity, and presumably for Bailknight, here https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/368651/

Perhaps check with Morgatu, I'm sure he'll be working on upgrading Rebellion effects so maybe join up with him instead of running over him.

Also, playtest Rebellion, provide feedback, help make the final product better before modding stuff into BETA -StarClad ain't going for people releasing mods while they're still making it; it takes away from the whole experience of testing the product and helping them instead of helping self. 

That said, tinker around with their new particle forge, provide some feedback on that compared to the one for Trinity.

Well, I felt his mod was dead. And you can see that I had put together fixed entity files for Diplomacy 1.34.

Look. The mod isn't mine. I take no credit whatsoever. It was all Bailknight/Morgatu.

And yes, the game isn't out yet. I know. You have another good point. The reason I did it was that I though this:

What would the game look like if I combined the great graphics on the ships with the great graphics Bailknight made?

And yes, I've been here a short time. I should be reporting bugs for Rebellion, not making mods for the beta.

P.S.

When did they release the new particle forge? Am I blind or what?

Bailknight was gone before I was here, like Sins plus mod its basically for public use. People had to port it for Entrenchment and Diplomacy. Pretty sure he said people could use it too.

Lay off SemazRalan. Bailknight's mod has been done over more times then an old hooker. He released it long ago and I and others (Morgatu included) have done what we could to keep it current. NR2001 is just taking up the torch.

While i question why people insist on modding a BETA that can change at any given time. I have to agree with Ryat. The man is trying to learn how to mod! Cut him a break. He is using bailknights mod (which has open permissions to use IIRC) as a guide to learn. Instead of shooting him down, and perhaps chasing off the next potential Sins graphic modder. You can try point him in the right directions. Maybe even help him out?

They didn't release a new particle forge yet. Its still the same particle forge from forge tools 3. but it "should" work for rebellion (i dont see why it wouldnt cause the particle formats didnt change).

They did change the meshes, and shaders for Rebellion. So we might be looking at an update to ConvertXSI to incorporate these new changes ( just speculation, but it makes sense ).

Lookin forward to some good work NR2001. If you have any questions about anything just throw up a question on the forums, the locals are pretty good about getting back to you....if we know the answer that is, lol.

If you're looking into Knight's SFX mod, you should also look around for some other weapon effect alterations too(I personally enjoy the small pew pew lasers being turned into beams =3)

Actually looking into some weapon alterations myself(just colors) trying to see if there's a way to tie in a color change with the upgrades, make the "tech level" of the opposition a bit easier to gauge in a fight, and let them know "Hey, my laser are stronger than yours, go run and hide" =3

Anyway, Not sure if this was your first thread or not but, welcome to the forums and our little community of modders people who enjoy flavors of sins that aren't vanilla (mine is coffee flavor =3)

Alright, got something that won't crash at start up.

Bad news:

All the meshes are useless.

And the sky boxes are kinda messed up.

Other:

Some things aren't corvette and titan friendly.

I'm getting there.

Have you converted the meshes for Rebellion usage? i.e. added in the "maxDiffuseMipLevel 0" line?

Has anyone been able to see my mod in Wincustomize search? I go to my profile and there is only my Trinity BK's GM Trinity fix. Help?

TBH, I wouldnt use Wincustomize

It got taken down because I put on the description "not my mod". They thought I stole the mod completely, so they took it down. I didn't really steal it, I just fixed it for Rebellion, and tried to PM Island Dog to fix it, but he never did. So, I'll find a link for SkyDrive download.

What kind of updates are necessary to put Pre-Rebellion particles into Rebellion? Do they work straight without any changes or did you need to do anything to them?

None. I had to change the entity files.

Did the moderators take it down? Should be able to explain to them you are using a mod that was relaesed for public use by its maker ages ago

Same.  Rebellion's graphics are a lot better than vanilla Sins', but Bailknight's graphics are still better.  Any chance of a Mediafire upload, NR2001?
