Ships smaller in ToA?

Hey, I played DL for 2 years before I got ToA and I notice that when I make big ships in ToA the game automatically makes them a lot smaller than a normal sized one.
This is really annoying for me, as I can't make gigantic doom giver-size ships like I used to back in Dread Lords.
