A Few Questions...

I just want to make this really short but im curious.

 

1. What are the new Advent Niches - between the rebel advent and the loyalist advent. TEC have a niche of offense vs defense.

 

2. What exactly is new in the tech tree's.

 

3. What do Corvettes do? The frigates are bulk fighters, and cruisers were utility spaceships, the fighters were OMFG WTF DPS.

 

4. Any advent buffs or anything worth noting?

 

5. The Eradica looks sexy. But im confused in the beliefs of the Advent I thought the loyalist were supposed to be ther burn all heretics type. And the Rebels were supposed to be more diplomatic. But the difference between titans suggest otherwise. I just feel as though the Eradica and Coronata should have their abilities swapped.

1. The Loyalists I don't know a great deal about, but I do know they are supposedly incredibly powerful at culture warfare, they can automatically spread culture from their planets with no temples, and get even more buffs to their ships when they fight in their own culture.

The Rebels are similar to an undead or necromancy type faction, they have tech that can cause any ships they lose to come back to life (10% chance), or gain a temporary clone of an enemy ship they just destroyed (again, 10% chance), they also gain buffs when all enemy ships are cleared from a well, or after they've bombed a planet. Basically they're all about death and rebirth/renewal.

2. Somewhat covered above, worth noting as well is that the Advent Rebels can gain shield restoration for their repair and antimatter platforms.

3. Swarm and debuff. Each type of Corvette has their own debuff they can apply on attack, and they stack with repeated activations.
TEC Loyalist = Slows Phase Jump Speed.
TEC Rebel = Reduces passive regeneration.
Advent Loyalist = Reduces %age chance to hit.
Advent Rebel = Increases energy weapon cooldown and antimatter recharge times.

4. Can you say increased phase missile block in culture? Also the Corvettes and new Battleship are excellent additions to the Advent fleet.

5. Well let me put it this way:

Advent Loyalists = Join us or die.
Advent Loyalists = Cleanse the corruption.

The Coronata assimilates the nonbelievers.
The Eradica purges the impure.

(The Eradica also has the whole death and renewal thing going with it's first and third abilities.)

Alright makes sense im really liking the Rebel faction, they seem more dark and realistic towards the situation at hand then the loyalist. Does the Beta Feature any new Faction Icons/Avatars?! I was hoping for a more male oriented advent leader for once not the strange Anima/cyborg males.

Not really lore wise. They've merely decided to stop the dogmatic drive for vengeance that the loyalists continue, and are instead doing a bit more introspective soul searching. They play like a necromancer faction but its the same sort of holy/transcendence power they've always had, not any sort of dark magic like RPG necromancers.

Ha! We don't even know if the Anima in the portrait is a male or female, it could go either way.

However no, I haven't seen any new portraits in Rebellion.

I figured as much but I do like this new look on the advent.

Cant tell me that does not look beautiful. Also I thought it would be badass if a titan appeared a certain type of music would play.

The Advent titans are not clear opposites as the TEC ones are. They're both support ships, its just the loyalist tends to be about giving bad buffs to their opponents while taking them over, while the rebel one mainly functions by buffing itself with nice AoE damage for good measure.

It seems to me the basic themes for the Advent Loyalists and Rebels are "Domination" and "Sacrifice", respectively...

The Loyalists focus on taking planets and ships through culture, technologies, or abilities....the Rebels focus on sacrificing "expendables" for positive buffs...the ultimate abilities of each Titan I think express these basic themes best...of course, there are exceptions but this seems to be the general line of thought for each faction...
