DC, while I respect your opinion I must say I totally disagree with you. Marijuana. or any other substance that affects the human body in a way that could cause an impairment in judgement while not under medical supervision is totally not good! You say it does not affect people who use it, no side-effects? That is ludicrous! I had a friend of mine, who while under the influence of Marijuana. and only Marijuana, walk out onto a busy highway and get killed.  Before he did it he absolutely thought he was in a field of flowers and grass somewhere.

So should it be legalized? Absolutely NOT! Each human being is different, and drugs make different people do different things. Some it will not affect, others it causes hallucinations, others go totally crazy! o_O

Oh, and I love the line of "Why is there so much federal control over our own judgement and our own bodies?".  The simple answer is because the average human being is as stupid as it gets nowadays, totally incapable of making intelligent decisions. I see it every day.

So are you saying that alcohol should be illegal to? Or really, like you said, any drug that can impair you. That's just as ludicrous as saying marijuana has no side effects.

it would have to been laced with something else as Weed does not make someone hallucinate
