So...my iPhone on my desktop???  Different, i'll have a look!

ok I guess some day came sooner

Question

will this or the other one over write System files? and will they play NICE with Stardock programs?

I have XLaunchpad installed (just did it now) and it seems to be working well with SD gear. I havent tried it all but i have Fences Pro, Objectdock Plus, WB 7 and Tiles all running atm and no issues.

Only oddity i found is that the default way to activate the Launchpad is to double click the desktop, and that obviously messes with Fences. Launchpad offers many ways to active though, i'm using move mouse to top left croner of screen, and finding it the easiest.

I downloaded XWidget, but have not installed it yet.

I don't know about overwriting system files, but all seems ok.

Just installed the Xwidget and beware, by default it wants to install some 3rd party stuff.
Wants to install a toolbar and make some page your homepage plus a third thing i don't already recall, i unchecked all three boxes. I continued with the installation, but i'm not a fan. A little too messy for my tastes and not at all an improvement, IMHO, over the similar product from Winstep, which i don't use wither.
Personal taste at work here, just not for me.

I do like the Launchpad though!

Thats odd. We're talking about the Launchpad here yes? The installer for me failed to gain a net connection, i thought nothing of it at the time, and i actually expected the install to fail, but it proceeded and i was never presented with any options about installing, (i double checked just now) and have no 3rd party apps/toolbars or erroneous homepages installed.

Guess it was just a flumix with the installer. In any case, i can understand the thoughts behind including these things with free software, and a option to not install the software was provided, so no harm done.

Just ran my cleaners and restarted and checked my processes and all is well. Have the launchpad running with the same SD apps as before and no issues.

Nice app XWidgetSoft, well done!

You know, you can call me crazy, but something weird happened to me just before I started browsing the forums. Normally I have 2 homepages that open at the same time, they are WinCustomize and iGoogle. But this morning out of the blue a website changed my iGoogle homepage and tried to change my default browser, thankfully my UAC settings stopped the browser change, but not the homepage change unfortunately. I was able to change it back manually though. Anyway, here's the clincher......guess what the name of the webpage was that hijicked my iGoogle ??....."Fantapper" ... so, I refer you back to reply #15.  You think this is coincedence ?   I'm a little mystified since nothing like this has ever happened on my computer for a couple years. I don't know what to think right now, and mind you, this all happened before I even read anything here on this thread !!!  o_O :S *_*

@Ace...WOW....I'm always just a little scared when you get those unexplainable browser changes, and when it's with the weirdness you just mentioned, even more so!
Wondering about the security and wisdom of having this software installed now....

Did you run your AV and Cleaners Ace? Did it pick anything up?

yes, I did, and it found 4 malicious browser add-ons and a rogue search engine that changed my Google default ,and it added a toolbar. My anti-virus couldn't remove it so I used a toolbar remover program that Doc had featured in a post. I'm so glad I had it. Anyway....the reason it has taken me so long to get back to this post is because I ended up having to re-format my hard drive and re-install Windows. the reason being because my system was performing weird and I lost the right scroll function of my mouse in my Command and Conquer Generals game......is that weird or what?  but now that I did all that (although it was a big pain in the bum ) things are back to normal thankfully and I've increased my security settings to prevent any future calamitys.

Here's the link to download the cleaner, it's completely free and I can tell you it really does work like a charm. I had 2 other toolbar cleaners installed but this is the only one that could nuke those add-ons.
