bump... its out
Thank you, RiddleKing.
Don't read beyond this if you haven't seen the premiere yet.
Just saw both episodes. I thought they were pretty good, was really glad it's a double episode, wanted MOAR after the first.

Anyway, other than that I liked it. The graphics seem to be a bit better, the group hasn't been sitting still waiting for Mason's return, and to me it seems like they are backing away from the 'skitters are our kids' revelation that they were hinting at in the first season (though it's still to early to tell for sure). Does anyone else think they're heading towards New York btw?
I don't watch the show ....but were someone to post spoilers re something I DO watch I'd likely simply strangle them slowly, and with relish....;)
Oh come on, those aren't spoilers. The main character returning, that's as big of a spoiler as saying people get shot, shit gets blown up, aliens are acting weird, and the Mason family has trust issues
Besides, I did warn them
Anyway, what I was pointing out was that (slight spoilers ahead) the 1000km trip from Michigan to Boston was rather uneventful, and Mason finding the group 300km further was just way to easy. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have let him return until the end of the second episode at the earliest. There are so many interesting things that could have happened during that journey. Hell, even the fact that he found no-one else alive, maybe not even aliens, could be interesting if done right. Just seems a bit lazy now, the only event being him finding the girl with the bike.
Oh, and I thought Weaver's complaining about not having heard from any of the other groups was a bit silly when he's in the next state and moving further away from Boston..
I wonder what the bug thing that came out of Tom Mason's eye was. Maybe some kind of listening device? idk, but the tiny listening device concept would be cool. Maybe a tracking device?
Spectacular episode, through, even though I could see the similarity between Falling Skies and Walking Dead.
I had several gripes about season 1, but if they can keep the same quality in the entire season 2 as they did in the first two episodes I'm satisfied. The tiresome tropes ("I have a family hurr de hurr hurr") are there but they were better balanced in the context of the conflict.
Just saw the third episode, lots of interesting things happening that provide set-ups for the rest of the season. And they didn't go overboard with the drama, so it was a good episode imo. I did think they were a bit to eager to change directions though, just sounds to good to be true. Who else thinks it's the reservation Tom was supposed to guide them to?
