Enemy of the Vasari

The Vasari's Pursuers

Here is a Thread to discuss who the Vasari's Pursuers are.  Post any ideas you have, or things you have heard.  Maybe we will find out in Rebellion who they are.  Until then, Let's think.  If you have already posted an idea somewhere, then post it here too.  I shall bring all the ideas here, with your help.

They said seven minutes till someone found the clues?  On the beta, or the finished game?

where did say "seven minutes" ???

I cannot remember.  They said they had put clues in the game code, and that it would take about seven minutes for the people to crack it (joking of course).

If they ever put such clues in the game code, the best place would be the codes for phase inhibitor, which its origin never explained fully (Vasari just merely copied them using nano technology, TEC took from Vasari for their use, Advent steals from TEC for their use as well.)

Here is a thread that has exactly what was said by an interviewer.  Only they did not put it there, someone quoted them.

https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/418246

Or if you don't want to see for yourself, here it is:

"We were also told that you're finally going to get some solid hints as  to what the Vasari are running from, which has been a plot point teased  for several years now. Apparently little bits of info will be hidden in  the code, and Ironclad is anxious to find out how long it takes the  community to sort through it all and crack the clues.

Our guess? Seven  minutes. Before the game comes out."

I suspect that the clues will be in the final game.

Blair also mentions putting the clues in during this interview, I'm fairly sure they're not in yet;

When is this from?!?!  I completely missed it!

Around the time beta came out I believe.

oh come on we all know its the care bears XD

Oh.  Once the beta came out, I went into my shell, and didn't come out for a while.

they experimented with his phasecannon to jump to other planets. They just experimented with this gun and a exotic star as a target. As the projectile hits the exotic star the star colapsed and a giant unstoppable phasewave starts running trough the universe. All things which are electrical powered or just out of metal or just technoligical advanced (not sure with this part :)) are thrown into phase space as the wave passed by.

So they cant look what happend because all ships that are flying back are thrown into the phasespace as they pass the event horizon of this wave. Thats the reason why the probes from the vasari are disappearing from the radar one by one. An advanced (brained) enemy would not reveal his actual position to the enemy by destroying probes as if they can destroy them without beeing detected they can pass them without behing detected.

So, the vasari are still alive on there old worlds, but without any technologic  they a forced into a new stoneage and they will need centuries to coming back with the first phasejumpcabable ships as the knowledge for this technology is lost.

There is no enemy! There is just a giant cataclysm for the known universe.  As soon all factions will realize the truth, freedom will fill the TEC-Space to find a solution before the wave reach there new homes.

My idea for them to get behind this wave. the should build a giant ark that is completly out of an organic substance and store all knowledge in the DNA of the ark. After the wave has passed they can extract the old knowledge out of the DNA from this ark.

And after that: if you know your enemy the day have structure - the war begins again :)

greets from the other side of the phasewave  ;)

btw: you want to know how they will find out that there is this wave ? There will be some very powerful advents. They can journey long distances with just there minds (think of there capital). They will see the truth. Maybe they will need some special spice from a nice desertplanet with dunes and worms ;)

Already been done. Star Wars-Black Fleet Crises. Teljkon Vagabond Organic Starship.

Personally I find myself sticking with the old "race that lived exclusively in phase space until the Vasari accidently let them out" theory.

yes, nice to, that story is similar to species 8472 in startrek voyager. But why not builing something on an already existing story and make tehm better :D

I think that my "All powerful being theory":

"What if there is just one pursuer?  A lab experiment gone awry?  An ultimately powerful physic being, able to destroy planets and control trillions of people with ease?  A nearly immortal vengeful creation, bent on destroying all Vasari, and freeing their slaves, traveling with the mind-controlled Dark Fleet?  The living embodiment of dominance, a billion times more powerful than all the Advent combined?  Coming this way?"

I think that it is very dramaticly told, dontcha think?

I think its someone who found a way to make titans cost 1 supply and has 2000 level 10s.

ihated2 is pretty much onto it.

Likely an A.I issue or Nanoswarm as another poster stated.

Also the Vasari subjugated so many other empires their are many possibilities.

Of course it could also be an effect from their wormhole/space tunneling technology you never know.

They're probably running from the super-bounties and the super ultra mega pirates with 100 damage laser cannons ;)

The gray matter/Nanite swarm theory is not possible here. Remember in the lore when the Vasari sent the Dark Armada to deal with the threat, and there was only one ship that came back? The ship was severely damaged and the crew on that ship went insane. I would say that, if it was a rouge nano swarm, then not only would the crew have been eaten alive, but the Vasari would have witnessed the damaged ship slowing turning into nano bots, which it did not.

Unless they where firing nanite payloads at the enemy ships, (and how will those get by sheilds), there would be no nanites on board. I figure they just tok over control of the system defence fleets and used their normal weapons on them. They wouldn't have had time at this point IMHO to construct or formulate the all new designs needed.

Maybe there are more nanites than we have numbers for, and they sweep across the galaxy, eating planets, a huge swarm bigger than a solar system.  Maybe they leave nanite populations on planets instead of destroying them, or they build space staions.  Maybe they are building gigantic guns (like a couple light-years long) that they will use to shoot more of themselves to other galaxies.  Maybe there is a whole civilization of nanites, thriving and growing more intelligent.

I have heard something similar elsewhere.  It is a good theory.

I know exactly what they were running from. An AI that became sentient went insane and blared justin bieber songs across the comm links. The only way to make it stop was to destroy your ship, the one ship whose self destruct mechanism was faulty went insane and put their ship on autopilot back to the homeworld.
