Ironclad have made the great game called soase with a budget who is 1/10th of big game studio...

Today, i have enjoy the part one of a sci-fi series pilot made with a budget of 15000$ ... almost nothing when compare to million $$$ budget of big studio...

I was expecting a bunch of crap... but once downloaded, i was surprised of the quality... music is good, actor are good, CGI are good ( just some strange animation during the space suit walk )...

Well, best to judge yourself... go to http://vo.do/l5 ... and download the free 720p torrent ( 1.11 gb )...

If you like it, buy one of the "ticket" or donate any amount ( same one single $ is better that nothing )...

Be alright but you need BitTorrent installed and it only gives you part of the episode. If they want to drum up support it would be a good idea to make the whole episode available. At least that would generate the kind of interest they're looking for.

BTW - I don't have BitTorrent and don't want it.

Well, i don't have BitTorrent but i have Ktorrent who is part of my Linux OS installation... in fact, it is very possible that you don't need a torrent client... by example, the internet browser Opera can directly handle .torrent, firefox have a plug-in...

And seriously, you miss a lot... by example, for music, more and more amateur artist ( some are very good ) release via internet, with full album on torrent... it is a cheap way for them to test if their work have some potential since a lot of the big media house will never take the risk to finance and release their job... useful for open source game... by example, http://www.flightgear.org/ who is a flight simulator game... software itself is only 400mb download but whole world scenery are around 12gb... heavy load for FTP server when the game is free...some commercial game company use torrent for release their free demo too...

In fact, in the last few years, some of the previously closed torrent site are opening again but only with legal content... music, open-source software, etc ...

As for the whole episode, it is not yet done... 30 minutes part one is already better that a 10 second trailer !!! And it allow people to forge a idea about what can be the series...

I seen this part 1. Really nothing of worth going on in that one. Effects are noticeably bad and acting is pretty bad at times, average most of the time. I applaud that it was made with only 15 000$ but that not mean I have to like it more.

Sure it is not the quality of a good old sci-fi series like Babylon 5... but it is better that all so called sci-fi ( mostly horror )series that the syfy channel throw to us now... i can be wrong but i think that there is no new space series running now...

No kidding, Thoumsin, the Stargate franchise got shot in the foot by Stargate Universe, because it killed the third SG-1 movie and first Atlantis movie. The BSG franchise is the only one left, and I never got into the re-imagined stuff, and Blood and Chrome seems to be the last space sci-fi series, which hasn't aired yet to my knowledge.
