Quoting Fistalis, reply 397How the average user tends to react to any dissent on using steam is an amazing study in conformity in the internet era. Its as if the very act of one choosing not to use it somehow is attacking their deepest set beliefs.. and is tend to be met as such.
There is an amazing Zealot faction at play with many steam users, its almost cult like. Its as if they must assimilate everyone. Oh wait they are borg it all makes sense now.
Interesting how the very same can be said about those same few individuals who are anti-those-who-question-those-who-are-anti-whatever.........whatever that may be who just have to be anti-something.
How many zealots come out of the woodwork anytime someone anti-anything gets their panties in a knot when someone on the internet questions their stance? You question one person's anti-stance and suddenly the entire herd shows up. It's almost like a cult. It's as if they must crush any opposition to the anti-movement.
It isn't any different from either perspective. That is if one retains that........perspective.
Oh sure anti whatever people are just as bad. But there are those who aren't pro or anti, they just want the freedom to choose rather than the collective insisting that every game require steam. There is a big difference between not wanting to be forced to use something, and wanting something to be implemented that will force others to use something. One allows for consumer choice, the other does not.

We were quite happy to keep talking about pudding and Pizza and cookies until people who just read the OP decided to inform us that we're basically stupid for not liking steam.
I think that's not being entirely truthful. If it wasn't for you and your posse posting pictures etc. of the unhealthy american diet this thread could have easily died a few times already as well.
You can't exactly hold the "newcomers" responsible for responding to you when the rest of you also won't let this thread die.
Thats totally true.. I was more than happy to let this thread die since the conversation it tends to devolve into has been repeated ad-infinitum but it kept coming up on top.
