Would Republicans vote for Jesus Christ?

Would Jesus stand a chance against Santorum, Romney, Gingrich or Paul?

Since Republicans seem to have problems deciding on the perfect presidential candidate, wouldn't they be ecstatic if God sent his son and prophet Jesus Christ to walk among us and offered to guide the USA towards a better future?

Pointless.  Nobody can presume.  Besides, he's already done what you hypothesize - "guide... towards a better future".

And another besides, given the title of your post, what makes you think Democrats would?

i think you are just too lazy to think. And you sound like you don't like the traditional Jesus.

Gingrich 1 - Jesus 0

Since you've opted for the traditional progressive approach to discussion, I think you're too stupid to understand the false premise.

Jesus would not be eligible as he was not a natural born citizen of the country. Since the Republicans insist on a strict adherence to the Constitution and feel obligated to ask any challenger for a birth certificate, I'm sure they wouldn't be so hypocritical. this is gonna cause all kinda problems.

is he a carpenter who might get all upset pondering the tax consequences of possibly, sorta in the near future maybe going into business for himself which then, who knows?, anything could happen earn him more than $250k at some point?

or is he really a professional community activist who never once during his adult life earned a single shekel making something with his hands?

then there's his radical approach to replacing our current health care mess with his radical single-healer option.  sure it seems to work for individual lepers, a blind guy or three, an occasional victim of demon possession and at least one dead guy who made it back alive. but how's that gonna benefit the rest of us?

finally, as we all know jesus can be almost supernaturally patient and forgiving...until he's not.  who expected his reaction to a certain fig tree.  how much sanctimonious sanctorum will be too much?

for that matter, if newt is 1/1000 as smart as he imagines himself to be, he'll go outa his way to avoid mutual appearances at or close to wells in samaria--specially wells with openings 60" in diameter or wider.
