[Video Tutorial] How to import models into Sins

This is a rather longish video (~30 minutes) showing the steps I use when I import models into Sins of a Solar Empire.

I've been meaning to records something like this after being asked several times to do something similar.

Hope it's worthwhile, if not it only cost me an hours worth of time :P

Thanks, I know it's a simple example, but sometimes that's best for people that are curious and benefit from watching someone else break down the steps.

I also know this is nothing new for experienced modders here but appreciate the responses from you, myfist0 and Sinperium on the video.

Also, wanted to thank Sinperium for previewing the video for me on my request.

I made a video tutorial a while back regarding turning max meshes into XSI and then into sins-compatible stuff, with the majority of work including hardpointing being done in max already. I don't think I ever upped an updated one, though, since I managed to remove about half the steps from the XSI process in a more efficient rundown. I cut the process down to about a minute worth of time in XSI needed for my Black Sun ships, with most of that time being waiting for it to load stuff.

I also had a video tutorial kicking around for some basic sound editing in Audition, I think, if anyone's interested. I could always record another if anyone's into that kind of thing. (Probably not.)

/e btw, I like your voice. Ever tried acting before?

I'd probably watch it, but can't say if enough would for it to be worth it or not. In this case I already need to import this object and could satisfy a few requests I've had.

Hehe, nope. Not the impression I get when I hear my voice, but I guess most people probably feel that way when they hear themselves. I always thought it was my blue eyes the ladies liked... I may have been wrong :P

Well, your voice is relatively unique and you are well-spoken, plus you have decent mic quality. This is much fairer game than the majority of people I've taught how to act.

Man--you're waaaay too late there Iskie.  Ever hear "Leonard" on "The Big Bang Theory"?  He's already got the moolah--not to mention residuals from "Roseanne"!

He does have a good air voice and niiice job on the vid.  I am actually studying his instructions to see if I can do some of that stuff.
