Use 1280х720 or ... or 800х600 "Window Mode"

Will there be resolutions other than 1024x768, 1280x800, 1600x900 in "Window Mode" ? 800x600 and 1280x720 are needed for those who have 1280x720 resolution (since at 1024x768 or 1280x800 lower part of the screen gets cut off)
The bottom line is that you can choose to run the game in windowed mode.

Screen resolution depends solely on which kind of monitor you use. On some monitors, certain resolutions are not supported and will cause you to have black borders around your game window.

I'm not really sure that people with really tiny displays that also want to run windowed mode is a huge market, outside of maybe 1366x768 TVs but:

- The 1024x768 limit for UI elements is already asinine, if anything it should be upped to 1280x720.
- 1024x600 should be supported in a way that isn't through mods. Netbooks have shifted to higher res screens but there are still a ton of netbook machines that can run Sins.

It is just that I did not quite understand what this thread is about. I thought the poster did not quite understand which resolution is best for him to use, so all I stated was that supported resolutions depend on which monitor you use. So if you use a very small monitor you can probably not play Sins on a high resolution. On bigger monitors, you can cause the game to run smoother by picking a smaller resolution. Maybe the poster should try to make himself more clear, since what is written in the OP truly is confusing.

That is, in this mode, the game does not take up the entire window, and you can easily do other things (Skype, ICQ, surfing the internet, watching videos and stuff). The game supports a choice of very little permissions to run WINDOW: 1024x768, 1280x800, 1600x900. I sit with 1280x720 resolution and put the game 1024x768, and on the startup window will automatically cut off the bottom of the screen (it cannot even be stretched).

I think it is strange that I can't choose 1280x720 resolution. I can't even click Menu exit button. And also button to close the statistics screen also unavailable in the end of game.

It is true that windowed mode is not supported in Sins. Maybe they will add it in Rebellion though.

The fact that you don't have a lot of supported resolutions is solely because your monitor does not support them though. I play Sins on 1440 x 900 for example.

The game is designed for a minimum height of 768px. If you wish to play at lower resolutions, there are mods out there which change the UI to fit in less space, however you would still need to set the fullscreen resolution manually in the config file to run at lower resolutions.

If you're using windowed mode, you are not limited by the available options. You can resize the window (the resize cursor may not appear, but you can still drag the window edges), or just maximize the window. However you'd still need a UI mod to run below 768px height without cutting things off.
