Well Akkan's and Dunovs were originally large cargo ships or civilian cruise ships as well as the Sova. It is no surprise that they were at a trade port. The only capital ship in the TEC fleet that arn't originally civilian is the Kol and maybe the Marza.

Yah know it would be cool if I can divert or upgrade TEC capitals to do trade duty as well since that was their original purpose.

Given the shader upgrade they mentioned elsewhere, I am most certain that this is a cinematic, not a gameplay trailer. So a lot of the interactions are not going to be seen in-game.

The Kol is the only one that was designed for pure military use.

 

Marza was originally a asteroid buster/harvester.

I zoomed in on that structure and came to the conclusion that it is a repair platform that has been put on it's side, so to speak. That way it actually makes more sense in my opinion, btw.

Ah yes that's what it is! There appears to be an Akkan sitting in it getting repaired as well.
