Woooow beautiful... Is it in game video ? I knew the graphismsware updated and I already saw screenies but is it that beautiful when playing ??? Gosh, I'm such in a hurry !!!

But... What about the space ponies ? Will they be a secret unlockable race ?

No, just kidding butseriously, somebody got to make a mod of it !!!

I highly doubt it will actually look like that in-game...that being said, that would be AWESOME..

I agree, that would be Awesome but I think that is how big the planets should be so then we can see miniature size nukes exploding or planet rays bombarding the surface of those planets. Why not just call it RealScaleRealTime4XStrategy game and add some depth into RT4X.

Its just CG but the game is going towards looking like that. We just need more CPU cores and it won't be a problem after the new engine is finished.

He has a dream.

I also noticed that IGN put this trailer on their front page, which is really nice.

More publicity is always helpful, especially for a small company like stardock. This appears to be a brilliant marketing move. :)

With Unicorn as their titan

Glorious. I also wish that the ships were somewhat more in real scale. Like the part with the titan by the planet, the planet looks huge. I feel like the planets should be the current sun's size and then suns that much bigger. A lot slower movement, but realistic. I believe that the CG effects could be replicated in-game, with lighting being the thing that is really improved. The shields probably could not look like that, as they take a lot of memory and power as they are now, but who knows, maybe Stardock and Ironclad are that good. I'd sure like to think that. I really can't wait for the beta, but especially the final product. The starwars mods for this are gonna be epic, just sayin  .

Quoting stein220, reply 12while i too imagined the colony ship to be larger, it's possible it is "colonizing" an inhabited world (they all have militia) and just bringing administrators to bring it under control.  like how India was a British colony (as opposed to to the US).

umm, the US was populated before it was "colonized" too...

yeah, you understood what I meant although I did not explain myself clearly.  thank you for getting my general point about makeup of said colonists.  I agree that the Vasari slave techs confirm your point.

Are people really thinking from that tiny clip there will be a campaign story despite the repeated and unwavering assertions to the contrary?  Are people really asking if that was in-game footage?  I just...I can't fathom...

Nevermind...

I'm hoping that footage is part of the opening cinematic for the game.  It looked pretty good.  Now I'm going to hide from the forums again because you people hurt my brain.  "In-game footage"...seriously?  :: sigh ::

No not really. But we can dream.... I imagine the devs are going insane watching us just mis-interpret it ;)

I do remember they mentioned something about specific goal oriented missions either as a game mode or in game.

No thats not true. They have no set date at all yet.

And the stardock store originally said December 2011...  But those actually doing the developing have said there is no date set yet.  So trust the people actually doing the work, not a store taking preorder sales.

Simply put, you'll see this on any pre-order where a release date hasn't been announced.  Diablo III has had release dates ranging from Febuary 3rd 2012 (complete with in-store displays...) to the current December 31st 2012.  Blizzard hasn't given a release date, those are all just placeholders because the systems those companies use REQUIRE release dates.

Stupid.  So, in short, it'll be done when it's done and don't believe everythign you read online.

I'm only taking a guess, but even Yarlen has to keep his mouth shut, but I would expect the beta to be released really soon so that the Beta players can start sending feedback of balancing issues that the devs might have missed.  Like the original release, we won't see it on shelves until the beginning of the summer. If I only had my receipt (looking through the original box) I would have the date.

"REBELLION - Play as one of three unique races - the TEC, the Advent or the Vasari; then customize your faction and unlock new options by declaring yourself loyalist, rebel or neutral."

dose neutral have its advantages?? i thought that you can be only rebel or loyal ? so neutral is??? what titan will you get by being neither rebel nor loyalist?

This is out of date. You can no longer play as neutral.

"We were also told that you're finally going to get some solid hints as to what the Vasari are running from, which has been a plot point teased for several years now. Apparently little bits of info will be hidden in the code, and Ironclad is anxious to find out how long it takes the community to sort through it all and crack the clues."
