Been skinning a BAC One-Eleven for FSX ....as a QANTAS aircraft  [they didn't use them as they're short range only - not 'overseas' enough].

The skin 'method' is pretty well different for EVERY aircraft model..... so the learning curve is kinda flat-lined - you ALWAYS are learning.

'only' 18 files needed working ....though 16 of those have alpha channels ....so that makes 34....

Still, less than some...;)

It took about 2 days....to convert the 'inset' skin to what's in the main Pic.  It's a 'what if' as QANTAS never flew BAC 1-11s as they were short range only.   When you get 'carried away' with skinning you do things like find the genuine coat of arms for 'City of Melbourne' - as QANTAS aircraft are typically named after cities.

The ATC call-sign is not real either....it's my father's Ham Radio call.... VK3-DEK.   The background is our local 'DFO' [Factory Outlet shopping center] just on the south edge of Essendon Airport, and yes, the cars are 'real'....eg. the station wagons are HQ-vintage Holdens.....nothing beats 'detail'....;)

Skinning aircraft, as with any other skinning often requires per-pixel adjustments..... you have to....as mistakes can annoy the crap out of you if you leave them be....and so many times others' skins I look into are particularly fault-ridden.

When I was younger my family used to go on holidays to spain and very often we flew with a jet called "Caravelle".

-It´s my favourite Jet, it had "Triangular" Passenger windows... You know ? |-)

Odd one.....triangular windows would create stress risers [corners] which is why 'most' use round...or rounded 'square' ...;)

Look at 2 of 3´s pic there and you see they are indeed triangular WITH rounded corners....Ah well just thought it be a cool different thing since you´re into aircraft. :sun:
