Glee is a "beautiful message about reality, about what really happens nowaday with kids"

Ricky martin said and I quote glee is  "a beautiful message about reality, about what really happens nowadays with kids."

Now normally this is the type of story I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole but um.. what? really?? Glee has some semblance to reality about the modern experience of youth? Did high school change that much since I graduated? (granted over 10 years ago)
I know its ricky martin.. so I don't expect much but omfg is this guy that much out of touch. Glee is escapism at its worst.

The fact that anyone would state that it's "a beautiful message about reality, about what really happens nowadays with kids." makes me question the intellect of my fellow man.

Seriously wtf...are you serious?

I think this is more a comment on the current state of american society than it is about glee or ricky martin.

Disclaimer: my local news was talking about it.. and showed an interview with this quote I didn't knowingly click on any story related to either ricky martin or glee or seek this out.. but it was thrust in my face under the guise of "news"

I've only watch about 10 mins of Glee and then I felt like hitting my head against the wall to get the blood flowing again ...

Can't even watch the ads ... the fake singing and bad dancing, it just OD me. Ricky should stop taking drugs ...

There was no glee club at West High.

I'm thankful for this rare, positive quality in my public education...

I don't understand why people watch this show. It is absolutely terrible...

Reality does not match this in anyway at least or I am too dumbed down to see it thanks to this show.

If it were 'reality' there would have been no Columbine.

It's escapist 'ideology' that maybe generates hope for those entering the school system....;)

I watch it....cos some of the songs/arrangements aren't half bad.

Jafo watches 'Glee'.

Jafo watches 'Glee'.

Jafo watches 'Glee'.

Jafo watches 'Glee'.

No. No. This isn't working. My brain just can't seem to wrap itself around this at all.

In fact, it hurts. A lot.

My head really hurts.

I think...I think  I need to listen to some Whitney Huston. Maybe go for a walk as well.

NOW you tell me?!?!?

And The Wire and The Shield....[when they were on]....and Generation Kill and Deadwood.

Interestingly they're all HBO ..... possibly because the mainstream Network shit is just that.....shit.

And as for 'reality TV'....actually Glee will be MORE 'real' than that rubbish.

Somehow, I just can't work up the motivation to figure out why you reference that particular episode...

Just trying to be crazy. I couldn't tell you what the 4th episode is about.  :-"

Right. Like 'Whitney Huston' for example.

I've been watching Shameless on Netflix at the neighbors. Quite entertaining, accent and all.  ( I know, to us Yanks, it's an accent. For some of you, we are the ones with the accent);)

The American version on Showtime is set in Chicago. Somehow, it seems a bit more reality based than Glee.

after 2 minutes I had serious suicidal tendencies

Hey naysayers are you saying TV and Movies don't reflect reality? Take Cop Rock for example. Isn't that how the police work?

Didn't they have Doogie Howser on it one year?  Thus ends pacov's understanding of the phenomenon of Glee.
