[CLARIFY] AI Difficulty level tooltips not clear

When creating a new game, and I can choose which AI difficulty to play against, I think the tooltip descriptions

 of the difficulties are wrong.

Now I know in much older posts we talked about there being an AI difficulty which is the most intelligent, without being favored with any bonuses.

I'm guessing that would be the Normal difficulty level? "Normal AI progresses the same as the player and possesses average intelligence." (note the bolded word shows a spelling mistake in the game's description)

So the next difficulty level should have the same intelligence but with bonuses? "Challenging AI has slightly buffed units and economic growth rates along with an increased level of intelligence."

Wait a second. I thought we'd get an AI difficulty which is fair but the most intelligent possible, but the descriptions seem to tell a different tale.

"Ridiculous AI has absurdly buffed units and economic growth rates along with a ludicrous level of intelligence."

Hmm...

Please tell me this is all a big misunderstanding.

Yeah - I'd like to be able to play the level where the AI gets no bonuses or cheats but plays to the best of its ability. If that level's put in the game and the AI can beat me at it, then it'll be good fun.

It's a cheap design decision to lump bonuses in with the 'ludicrous level' AI - it would mask the AI's true quality.

Nobody likes a cheater, to me the worst kind of cheating is to bump up  the stats of the opponents, I"m all good for letting them start with more traits, starting positions, & more general trickyness.  personally I would prefer them not get a bonus to unit stats untill the last two difficulty lvls if ever.  Changing the stats changes the enemy your fighting, they are no longer the goblins they should be but ogres (4 hitpoints to 16?) when all you wanted was 'tougher' goblins (though this rant has been made before on another post not too long ago & I believe Frogboy is ontop of making this enjoyable at higher difficulties without noticable cheating)
