Knowing Who Gave Me My E:WoM

I had gotten E:WoM with the limited edition box awhile back, and I had been awaiting this beta eagerly, thinking i would get an email, then download it, then see the magic unfold. And, yknow the regular beta feedback and such. This never happened. i have been doing some reading on the forums, and it seems that, even though i preordered E:WoM from this site, it may not have come from stardock specifically, which might be the reason i don't have any of the previously mentioned things. This is just a guess though, can someone confirm? And possibly tell me when the good folks at stardock will let people like me in?

Malleus, did you register the boxed copy under another email address? I've updated the account you are posting under to show the beta, though I would appreciate it if you could email [email protected] the WOM serial you are using.

Beta1 was made available today for customers who had pre-ordered before the release of WOM directly from Stardock/Impulse. "The beta release will go in two phases. January 19 will be to everyone who pre-ordered WOM. A week later will be everyone else who got WOM in 2010."

Not to be mean, but that quote there is miss-leading.  It really, really, really should say:  January 19 will be to everyone who pre-ordered WOM THROUGH US.

 

It's because of that ambiguity that I found myself super disappointed today.  I figured you guys somehow would know, maybe through different registration keys, whatever, but obviously not.  It is understandable that you guys have no way of knowing who pre-ordered through a retailer, but it would have not been so frustrating if that quoted line wasn't giving the exact opposite impression.

 

I am glad they could help out the OP though, at least he was smart enough to buy it directly from you guys, instead of a retailer. :P

Ok, so my pre-order from Amazon will not count as a pre-order for the first download but will for the "everyone else" group?  And I got all dressed up just for today. :(
