File corrupted (solved)

Hi, I've downloaded the beta and opened the file but after installation it won't boot up.  The shortcut on my desktop is one of those generic blank ones!  So I tried to re run the downloaded file, this time it says file corrupted.

Back to downloading again.  30 mins later when trying to run the downloaded file it just keeps telling me that the file is corrupted.  Any advice welcome.

Cheers,

Andy.

The download is not finishing correctly, most likely. As someone stated in another thread, try using a download manager, especially when downloading large files via http (which is the case here.) As for recommendations, can't help you there, haven't used one in YEARS. Think the last one I used was GetRight, but have no idea if that is good/bad/terrible/existent these days. Probably try a search on the term download manager, and go from there. Or hopefully, once the servers are a little less being stomped on, you may have a bit more luck.

Thanks Leo,  I'm trying to download file again atm, but my speeds have dropped off!  I was doing 1.5mb/sec, now 300kb/sec!!  I'll let this one finish then do as you suggested.

4 attempts and failures now!  I tried to remove the partial install from my first go which seemed to work.

Now I run the most recent copy I downloaded and it seems to extract ok.

The install aware wizard runs, but then I get the following message "Are you sure you want to uninstall the selected application and all of its components?".

My only choices then are to click yes or cancel!  I have selected yes to see if there are any remaining elements (no pun intended!) it can remove but then get this message - "Could not access network location NO$KEY".

Any advice is welcome, which I will gladly look into tomorrow as I've had enough tonight!  Too late to fiddle with PC's (and I'm too tired to fiddle with myself!).

Hopefully a new day will give me some inspiration.

Cheers,

Andy.

Hey,

I got the exact same issue. Downloaded the installer, but it always tells me "file is corrupt" during extraction. I deleted the installer and redownloaded it, but still the same issue. Any detailed help would be mush appreciated...

Thanks.

Right I'm back again, but a lot happier

I went back to a previous restore point (only 5 days ago) and tried installing again.  This time all went swimmingly!  Probably didn't work before  because when I tried to remove the first corrupted installation it left something in my registry that wouldn't allow me to reinstall.  Going back to a previous restore point must have cleared that away because it all ran very smoothly.

I even had half an hour of gameplay and all I can say is WOW! - loving it guys.

Cheers,

Andy.

Serendreus, is the filesize 2,453,096,484 bytes? Is the md5 of the file 4c4055c6d1bb738344f6b73b37328d56? Use the tool at http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/md5sums/ to check that.

Can you guys release a torrent for the installer? It would solve a lot of the corruption problems people are having.
