Falling Sakura Petals

How to create falling objects

I'm a total n00b for script writing. I wouldn't even know where to begin. But could someone please help me create a desktop X object set up so that I can have falling cherry blossom petals on my screen?

I'd PM sViz, or romanda.

I don´t work "Desktop X", but in any other software it would be fairly easy creating an animation of that consisting of frames.... :|

It sounds like a DS dream would be a better, easier way to accomplish this.

Creating the frames wouldn't be so hard, making it work on the desktop is another thing. I would think that a script that would clone the petals, and make them fall in the correct direction would be possible, even though I don't write script. Maybe even add a control allowing you to set the amount of petals, wind direction, etc.

And yes, a Dream would work too, CarGuy1, amitsaran, might be up to the challenge, you could PM them.

Also, I expect that your other thread will be nuked, since there's no point in having two threads on the same question.

There are a number of objects with moving "stuff" Including my eater peeps submission.

The code is fairly easy (if I can do it, it can't be hard) so find something that does something sort of like what you want and modify it.

It's terrible in so many ways . . . but it was really only to be installed on my wifes PC Easter morning (without her knowing) and I liked it.  Replacing the image with whatever you wanted and cloneing is super easy too.

For personal use, I would recommend Realistic Animated Christmas Snowflakes by GreenReaper: https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/desktopx_objects/3762

1) R-click on the snowman and uncheck script enabled

2) R-click on DXBuilder systray icon and open Object List

3) Open the properties for GR_Snow_OriginalFlake_0 , 1, and 2

4) In States > Appearance, change the Show *and* Fade images to your petal images.

5) Do that for each OriginalFlake object, keeping in mind they're supposed to be varying sizes (small to large flakes.)

6) Change the image for the snowman if you want, and enable its script, again.

7) L-click on the snowman and change the snowflake settings, lower the flake count, settle time, etc.

No script work necessary.
