Two interesting replays from the last week

1. We had 5 'pro' players and one semi-pro here (Kreatron). In order to balance, the stronger team went Rook (nnnils)/Sed (IN1)/DA (yellow_belly) vs Rook (jakins)/Sed (Antares)/UB (Kreatron). The game turned out to be quite challenging for us. Jakins has gone mana till level 9, so he was ahead of nnnils. And our DA couldn't really fight - no surprise - until after level 10. The guys were +2 war ranks to us (10:8), but we were lucky enough to outlast the creep attack and to score some kills on Antares in the meantime. When yellow hit 15, things became easier. The replay features some nice coordinated ganks (Boulder->Swap->Slam->Silence) and is overall quite exciting to watch, IMHO.

2. Here's an example of how a team should not play. Pay attention: we are losing late game, despite being +8 (!) or more in kills. The reason? The guys don't push structures and don't take portals (I obviously can't push/ninja alone before J-Treads with this matchup). They concentrate on killing, and killing alone does not win games. We win this one only because of dumb luck, plus overwhelming number of late game kills -> loads of gold accumulated this way.

Just watched the first game. Some questions: 1. What do you think about mana-placed Rook?  Looks like it can be a decent alternative for UB. 2. What about the Nature's Reckoning on Sedna? Is it a new meta? :)

1. Well, honestly, it's difficult to answer with a simple 'yes' or 'no'. It can be either great (if the other team is conservative), or retarded (if the other team can adapt easily). We were conservative (: Thus, it worked like a charm. Alternatively, we could put nnnils on mana, while me and yellow would try to hold hp vs UB+Sed. I think that was the right thing to do, given the circumstances, but we got into the mental inertia state and did not respond as needed.

2. I wouldn't call it new. Hedgie taught me to get it first a billion years ago. I guess I was too nooby to see the benefits. Now it's the first item I buy for Sed. Why? (1) It farms like crazy, and that's what Sed needs; (2) essentially it is half a helm from mana reserve viewpoint; (3) adds a huge non-calculable amount of dps, especially if you are aware of the conditions under which it triggers more than it should (don't ask me about that, since people would surely abuse it).

2. You need to expose it for it to be fixed in Uberfix

Here is something really abusive for everyone to learn.

As rook, buy and sell Iron Walkers, it is a nearly free 1000 armor for you, since the buff never ends (even after you sell it) as long as your speed doesn't go over 5.5 (So don't buy any speed items, and you can't really do this on a team with Fire TB since his aura will put you over 5.5 speed)

It sounds like you're implying that you know about a glitch for a character you play 99% of your games as.  You've listed the glitch as one of the reasons you buy the glitched item first every time, that hardly seems fair? :O  Or can we just trust that you don't abuse it?

Nature's reckoning is hardly new meta, is also a great item for Erebus and to a lesser extent Oak.

@Shane:

Well, I'm a gentleman (: If you need a proof, see any replay or ask people I play with (that's helluva lot of very experienced players). My NR procs exactly as listed (roughly on every 6th AA hit), not as it CAN proc. The exact mechanics of this particular glitch are extremely tough to figure out. I know for a fact hedgie and pacov are aware of the glitch, but never use it.

@L-O:

I applaud your wish to fix another glitch, but, mind you, 99% of the games are played w/o Uberfix, and I already feel some people will rush to abuse the glitch if I expose it on the forums. I'll remain silent.

That's a well-known glitch. Decent players don't use it (: The buff stays until you die and respawn.

Alright I figured it out, it's not hard when you learn that you can proc the bolt from pounce.

Basically pounce when Nature's reckoning is going off.

There, its not a secret anymore.

I suspect you jump to conclusions too fast. I'm not getting Pounce with my build (:

Well, whatever, if you do the pounce at the right time to cause an attack stutter (basically you AA again right at the completion of pounce while Nature's rec is procing) you get 2x 250 point hits out of it.

People never believe me when I say it will re-proc during an attack stutter, which is why UB can get 1000 damage out of it in under 2 seconds sometimes.

Edit: OK I was doing it the hard way, just click on a new target while it is procing.

Still, the Proc-Pounce-Proc method takes skill and is pretty nice from a damage output perspective. ;)

Note: There have to be enough targets for the proc to take some time to chain. eg: 2-3 targets and it is not going to do it.
10? Fairly easy to do it with lazy timing, because it takes the chain lightning 1 seconds to arc through those 10 targets.

Would be, indeed. Tried out the L-O way. Doesn't work for me  O:)
