New Player Introductions

We have had a really nice influx of new players since Sins has expanded to Steam.  Member Sinperium suggested we have an "introduce yourself" thread and I thought it was a great idea.

So if you are new to Sins, come introduce yourself to the community and maybe even setup some matches!

Hello all 0.0

New person to the forums here. Can't really say anything about myself now that i think of it. Anyhow the game is still very confusing to me, so any and all advice is welcome.

Hi everybody =D You might have saw me elsewhere (mostly if you're a local Scottish gamer 'coz I tend to stick to those communities, in the hopes of setting up a LAN party).

I'm not currently playing Sins online for unreadiness, and besides, due to broadband availability in my new home, I've went from a comfy 120Mbs DL / 12Mbs UL Virgin staff connection to an unbareable 10Mbs/1Mbs with Sky :'(

I'll be combing for tips and stuff, but if anyone wants to mentor me or just be my buddy, feel free :D

Hi folks

My Forum Nickname is Aladran, but ingame I'm Zolthar (that name was already taken on the forum :( ).

I've played Master of Orion ALOT! Homeworld 1 and 2, ALOT! And I have discovered this wonderful game 3 days ago.

I'm now able to beat Easy AI quite... easily... And I forsee starting playing online very soon. The game is so addictive.

So far I realy Like to play the Vasari, they look very threatening and their capital ship are sooo badass!

As soon as I'm confident enough in my gameplay, you will see me online ready to kick your ass (or have mine kicked ;) )

That's me

Take care and happy gaming!

hey guys,

i'm new to this game. been playing civilization since the first version came out when i was like 12? 13? anyways, always wanted a space version of civ, never new it existed, now mad at myself for missing so many years of great gaming!!! :)

however, i am struggling with this game. i try, build some space buildings, a few ships, and then can't seem to do anything else. it says i've run out of "spots" to build anything new? i also max out my fleet up keep immediately.

is there a video online of basically how to get thru the first 10-20 mins of the game? some tutorial? thanks!

If you haven't gotten through yet. Click the Single player tab then the Tutorial tab. Follow from top tab to bottom i.e. Basic Gameplay and so on. I'm sure you can also type "sins of a solar empire rebellion tutorial" in Youtube as well but the tutorial in the game is pretty straightforward.

Hi all,

New to the Sins games (bit behind I know) and just got Trinity after being recommended by a friend. Starting on single player and been through all the tutorials. They don't really give a good deal of help unfortunately and so far I've yet to win a small map against the computer on normal. Trying different strategies but no luck yet. I'm hoping this is part of the learning curve and I might start winning soon!

Still finding it quite addictive even still.

Hey there, really have been a fan of Star Trek and this game just made me wet my pants for it so yeah hey what's up everyone

Welcome to Sins!  For those who are interested in multiplayer, here is a helpful link to better understand the community.  There are many veteran players that will help newer players get acclimated if you ask coherently.

Enjoy!

We are aeligos.   k3

Not new to Stardock forums, but new to Sins.  Well, at least within the next 186 minutes we will be.  Yes.

You see, something wonderful is about to happen -- the purchase for Sins: Rebellion.

We express great interest in learning how to mod. Perhaps this talent will befall us as we commit to Sins.  }:)

Got Trinity a while back, enjoyed it immensely. The LAN games were really memorable

Glad to see Rebellion doing great, another worthy must-buy. Recently watched a friend play Endless Space - just couldn't get into it, despite the interesting interface (I'm a sucker for more stats). Its simplistic combat is what drove me away though.

Kind of wish there were more things to do planet/system-wise in Sins, does feel rather combat-oriented and fast paced.

Hi all, I just bought the game last night! Searched the web for literally HOURS! Finally came to this and found it to be interesting! So I watched a few videos on youtube, found my way here, went to check out and decided not to purchase! Then went back like 20 minutes later and got to the purchase page again and once again quit =\ One more time and I ended up buying the game haha! I like the game so far, it's fun although I don't get a lot of the stuff. I'm really bad at RTS games but I like playing them so I do! ^_^

My fave game of all time is Minecraft, I run a small server so I don't know how active I will be here on the forums but I'll stop by once in a while.

Maybe someone wants to join me in a game some time? I'm not that into pvp cause I can't even defeat a computer char but I would not mind seeing a expert play haha.

Hi Everyone,

I'm a returning player, I had Sins when it first came out but I lost my copy when I moved from the UK to Greece.  Was browsing the Steam sale and saw that Rebellion was there and decided to purchase the new version after reading some of the good reviews and patch notes.

Still currently downloading and looking forward to re-learning the game again.

Hey guys, just got myself sins on steam sale. Never even realised this game existed, absolutely loving it though.

Anyway, I'm quite a casual gamer, but look forward to getting some games in.

Hi all.

Dont play this game in multiplayer, thats not my favorite game type for that. I enjoy the fleet battles for myself, trying new ways, etc.

Currently i am playing with mods like E4X.

Want to say hello after entering a new forum because i am well-bred. :D

Hello everyone!

Just got into the game. Actually bought it today after playing the demo ^-^! I had been looking for an RTS to play for a long time and after playing the demo Sins fit me perfectly.

Looking forward to playing with all of you =).
