New Structure Idea For Rebellion

I know its a little late to be putting ideas out into the inter-web but i just needed to get this idea out

New Building Idea

The new building should be a prison or jail of some kind, i think this would add an extra element of realism to the game so here it goes

The prison would be built just like any other orbital structure and would make a certain type of corvette, the prison collector (that's the only name i could think of at the moment)

So lets say you are in a battle and you kill all the ships in that gravity well and they go boom you would build the prison corvette and send it to the gravity well

It would have the ability called prison call and would only work if there was a destroyed cap ship or titan, (and the prisoners would only stay there for a certain amount of time).

So the ship would go to the piles of obliterated enemy cap ship/ titan and "pick up" the prisoners, but you wouldn't see the prisoners.

Each cap ship and titan would have a certain amount of crew that would turn into prisoners when the ship was destroyed

So after picking up the prisoners the corvette would go back to the prison orbiting your planet and put the prisoners in the prison

Buying Back/ Trading Enemy Prisoners

Depending on the amount of prisoners you have captured there would be an amount the enemy empire would have to pay to get them back, So like 300 credits for every 50 prisoners. There would be a limit to the amount of prisoners you can keep in the prison

If the empire decides not to buy back the prisoners there would be a consequence for not doing so (what that consequence should be, i don't know)

Then there would also be an option to sell the prisoners to another empire, (but you would have to research the option to sell the prisoners)

You could change the amount of prisoners you want to sell to the empire and there would be a price just like it would be if you were trying to buy the prisoners back.

BUT the prisoners you have would generate and revenue due to the fact that they would be working for you so like for every 50 prisoners you would get 1 or 2 credits per second.

All the prison management stuff would be conducted through the Black Market window

Hope you liked my ideas

I think this would make a complex game overly complex if implemented. I do think it is a funny idea, but I honestly think it wouldn't add much value to the overall Sins gameplay experience.

But you never know, maybe a modder thinks this idea is really cool (or you could make a mod yourself if you understand how to) and he will implement something like it.

And RiddleKing... Stop it with the trolling man come on. It is not nice to treat people that are new to the forums in such a manner.

Now how was i trolling? It was a funny idea. Sims of a Solar Empire funny

Then I would recommend Galactic Civilization II.

that seems a little over the top, i could see a scavenger corvet that could scavenge res from the parts of ships destroyed

pirates plunder, not the noble empires.  But, it's not hard to make an ability that steals metal/crystal from frigs, structures, capitalships or starbases; 7DS has a ship that does that to structures and starbases.  Crew, however, in SOASE isn't used at all.  If you could make an ability similar to the debris vortex that converted debris to metal/crystal, it'd kick ass!

We already have space jail.

It's the "penal colony" planet bonus.

It's present on asteroids and volcanic worlds.

There is absolutely no need to have two types of space jails in a 4X game that's suppose to be about epic space combat.

Aww... a little kid on the forums how cute.

That was mean; let me make it up to you. Your idea with prisoners could work if their only use wasnt so you just have to buy them back from the person who captured them. Also, it makes it hard to take you seriously when you... quite bluntly... sound like a little kid. Not being mean, just factual.

HEY i am not a little kid! >:(

could be used as a form of "buying back" cap ship experience...if your enemy were kind enough? or perhaps assimilating small portions of enemy tech

could also be nice to hold the well and be able to scoop up some of your cap ships crew

JCD, Your sequels sucked.  You've posted 7 threads and been a douche-bag in most of them.  Quit it or we'll tip you upside down and pour lava into your mouth.

This is the only real reason i can see for this being implemented. That said, it's a lot to affect so little of the game. I can see it being implemented but would it be worth it. I suppose it would depend on how it's implemented and how much microing it takes.

Also, think about if it would even be worth it resource wise. You would research and build this cruiser and structure to collect prisoners, then hope your enemy is going to buy them back, but these prisoners would have to be pretty expensive to justify even spending resources on said tech/ship/structure. Would it even be worth it to your enemy to buy them back?

I can't remember what it costs to buy levels for your caps off the top of my head but it would be less expensive I imagine, to just buy those levels than to pay whatever it would cost to get your prisoners back. I suppose it would depend on how much exp the prisoners give you, if it's enough it might make sense for higher level caps, but I don't think it should give too much otherwise it could upset balance.

You know, I skimmed through this topic and all I was reminded of was those stupid Ferengi in Armada II running off with my ships, just because they were stupid to go through an irradiated nebula. Stupid Ferengi...

Maybe Ive been a bit of an asshole, but at any one point in time, has something Ive said ever been untrue?

And yes Im well aware DE 2 and 3 were made for the worlds less intelligent population, however Ive every right to dream of the glory days in computer gaming...
