Sysmetrix .... (Solved)

Works on one pc, but not the other.

Ok Now I´m tired of Uninstalling Sysmetrix & Installing it again just to find out ONCE AGAIN that when I "Create theme" in the Sysmetrix configuration it just WON´T create the Folder in "Sysmetrix "Theme" folder in Programfiles x86....

A couple of times I even went as far as Re-installing The whole 7 OS 64 bit (both have this OS) But still NO LUCK It just WILL NOT create the Folder for the theme I´m trying to start.

-On our other pc it works fine, No problems there. It almost looks like this Pc is incompatible with Sysmetrix, but that just seems impossible.

-i would be happy for ANY input on the matter ´cause this skinner is S T U C K .

Can you manually create a folder?

If not, then it might not be Sysmetrix that is the problem.

Hmm... Kitty tried that a couple of times...fixed the folder on the other pc and put it on this, but it behaved very strange after that. She put a skin together but the ini file never got all the necessary info in it... like that "create"stuff problem persisted even after having the skin folder..

What exactly do you mean with "it might not be Sysmetrix that is the problem." ? :\

Well, if you're not allowed to create a folder it might just be a (Windows/user) permission issue.
Dunno how it's set in Win7, but look into it.

Also, be sure to log in as Administrator. ;)

I gotta go to bed now, but Thanx for trying to figure it out....

I just think it´s SO strange that it doesen´t work even directly after a fresh 7 re install.... If it´s Not the Sysmetrix then what the heck could be causing this ? :'(

This is a new one on me. I've had smx on four machines already and never encountered anything like that. Do you have any other system monitor working? Perhaps there's a file or something being shared by another program. I dunno ... just guessing here.

Have you already tried running Sysmetrix elevated (i.e.; right click shortcut, select 'Run As Administrator')?

Depends on the UAC settings for your PC. If I remember correctly, Sysmetrix skins are stored under C:\Program Files (x86)\. That's a no-no after Windows Vista, and, unless the application itself is running with admin rights (i.e. elevated), it will write changes to the the Virtual Store instead of the real themes folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\.

This would mean that the application itself would see the virtual folder - but you, browsing with Explorer, would not.

Here's one. Why does sysmetrix stop working when I right click on it? Started happening yesterday.
