quarantine systems
I think a decent add on to rebellion would be the ability to flag a system so your ships (Scouts mostly) don't happen to wander into a pirate base early on. it would cut some of the micro down. just a thought.

Nice idea. It certainly would be great if "explore" automatically pathed so as not to travel in a pirate system.
Yup, it's a two-step change:
A. auto-explore never chooses a revealed pirate base as its target
B. units always avoid a pirate base when pathing unless they literally cannot get to their destinations without passing through it.
Would be very nice; I often have to queue up orders to ensure my units go around pirate bases. Sometimes the "predicted" path shown is not the one they will actually take, which gets really annoying since post-Diplomacy pirate bases are significantly more dangerous to units that are just passing through.
In Eve Online, you have the option when setting autopilot paths to include or exclude low security systems with the simple press of a key.
Your ship will then not pass through any of them as you wish.
We could also have the same option for enemy systems and apply it to trade and refinery vessels as well.
I don't know...that might take a lot of fun out of the game...
this sure as hell isn't Eve. I don't think the game can have a "Flag to avoid" and if so, the game would flag planets inappropriately.
Heh...one can dream. I don't play Eve--Sins is much better--but they have some good ideas here and there.
What do you mean it 'can't'? Set a quarantine flag for a planet via the UI. Then scounts and possibly other ships don't pass through it. The logic won't melt your computer; it just isn't there now. Which is why he is asking for it. It may not be my top most pick for a feature, but it is certainly not a bad idea, regardless of where the inspiration came from.
That's not the problem I see, I think that the AI would have to be very specifically coded, or else it will quarantine itself into a corner. Making the game as a whole worse rather than better
wraith767: seria exelente, muchas veces cuando jugaba pense en eso. Creo que seria un detalle importante! (tenes que preveer que en poco momento los scout se pierden...)
it would be exelente, many times when it played I thought of that. I believe that it would be an important detail! (tenes that preveer that in little moment the scout gets lost...)
Doesnt it feel like sometimes... I dont know... people come up with the most retarded reasons to say no to an idea?
Heres why it should be featured:
Extremely easy to code
Reduces level of annoying micromanagement.
There you go
EDIT: Oh, it seems you morons have already been blasted. Carry on.
Really? I was being sarcastic...some people get lots of kicks out of watching mindless trade ships get blasted by starbases and pirates, and it'd be a shame if trade ships could so easily avoid all that mayhem...
Your insincere flattery has failed...
So... you were being sarcastic or you werent? If you were then I of course apologize.
I was...see, it's kind of a joke among casual gamers that shooting the enemies trade ships is "lots of fun"...obviously, no serious player really cares about such things but if you are really bored (or are losing and have a single well entrenched planet) you tend to notice silly things like trade ships fly by SBs and get killed...when it's late, and the game's been going on a while, it's enough to make one laugh...
