I bought oject desktop with Deskscapes 3 and i am using the latest snow christmas deskscapes 3. it crashes widows explorer after so many mintes or hours i dont know really annoying. onyl thing i have installed as far as video is the latest version for my evga geforce 8800gts graphics drivers.
The video card drivers / video card is more than likely the cause. The 8800gts has had problems with DeskScapes for a while. The last set of drivers I was able to get to work properly before I replaced the card was 191.07.
I also had plenty of trouble.
So i will post step by step what you could try.
get yourself the newest (non beta driver) the current version should be 285.62 WHQL
uninstall your current gfx driver ( i recommend deleting it via control panel ) while Nvidia has a option for fresh installation it will not remove old dll files
Restart and remove old dll and reg files of your gfx card ( driver sweeper )a very very easy tool or (ccleaner) a bit more complicated - to remove the remainings of the old Nvidia driver.
Install the new driver...when promted restart
Now make the windows exp index... Start \Control Panel \ System and Security System \ when its done restart again reboot and try deskscapes.
