New user with a question before I get carried away

Hey, all - long time Stardock user, new to DesktopX.  What brought me to this is the fact that I can't find a meter out there to fit my exact needs.  I really like the All CPU Meter, and use it on my gaming rig, but there is something it (and all other meters I've found out there) is lacking: a GPU meter.  There are a few stand-alone GPU meters I've found, but I'd really like a meter with everything in one.  Also, since I have a spare (smallish) monitor just for meters, I'd like something I can resize/design to fit most of it.

Is this something that can be accomplished with DX?  I tried Rainmeter, but wasn't that wild about it, and I'm hesitant to attempt to learn a totally new language if I find out it's not possible.  For some reason, GPU meters seem to be as rare as honest politicians.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, it just so happens that another member, gevansmd, and I have been talking behind the scenes about such things. He is a programmer and is going to write some plugins for DX, if he can get some info on what form DX expects the info to come in. (If that makes sense.)

 

I'd contact him, or sViz.

I've seen in various posts that you're one of the Ruling Council of this tool, so I'm glad to see that you responded.  If there is anything that I can do to help - beta testing, hardware examples, etc, I'm more than happy to help in any way I can.

Meanwhile, try the GPU gadget from  here: http://addgadget.com/  As you may know, they make the All CPU gadget. I use it on a daily basis. I also use the Drives gadget and Network meter.

Well, I have a lot of themes in the gallery, but as far as Ruling Council....meh..I dunno.

 

I get my codes and scripts from others, or in the gallery. I just happen to be one guy who hasn't given up on DX.

 

I'll keep you in mind for testing and will be glad to hear ideas and stuff from you as well.

Yep, I've used that one, but it unfortunately doesn't play nice with my card.  Can't remember off the top of my head which one I'm using right now...it works "okay," but it's small, has no graph and (most importantly) is a separate widget.  *sigh*  Yeah, there's stuff that I can make do with, but I want it all.  :grin:

Yeah...seems like the forums are semi-dead, and there hasn't been much work on the app itself in a while.  Funny thing is, I wanted to check it out because it was Stardock and not some random third-party like Rainmeter, so I thought the support would be better...
