Surgery, Monday morning.

Surgery, Monday morning.

Monday morning 8AM (Real world time)
I'm having my gallbladder removed. It's been causeing me nothing but trouble the past years.

OUT!! BE GONE, YOU FOUL THING!

Nervous? Not the slightest. I'm actually looking forward to it!

The procedure is quite "simple". Can be done in one of two ways.

1. They poke 4 sticks through my belly, and cut it out that way - and I'll be released the same day. (For some serious pampering by my girlfriend) ;)

2. They drag out the big chainsaw, slice my up and remove it the 'old style' way - 2-3 days recovering in hospital. (Fuck that.....)

I'll update my Facebook about the progress from Monday afternoon - when or if I wake up. ;)

@ Doc: There's just so many things wrong with that picture.

1: I don't work that corner on trash day.

2: I'm in a No Parking Zone

3:Those heels don't go with that dress.

Yes... so far 32 consecutive years of Australian Grands Prix...;)

Re the other thing...just sell your kids for medical research.... turn a few quid profit ...and you're FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ...;)

No need to sell the kids for med research as they are growing up and out rapidly. Actually one has one foot out the door already and the other one is already turning 15 in a couple months so my day will be coming!!!

Last time I saw China she had renamed herself Sugaree, probably from the song of the same name.

Great to hear from you again, Sis!! How's Dutchy doing? Bring him along over here too - the ol' cray-fish. ;)
Ps.: There ain't no such thing as internet connections on minor Danish hospitals. ;)

Fuzzy: Doing a nut-job on me, would be a waste of time. They aint working any way. ;-)

Deven: Yup, they got the right thingy out.

My belly is more or less covered in bandaid. I'll try to get a desent pic up tomorrow.
As for pain. Sorry, Paul but considering what I've been through I'm overall in no pain. :-P
The only noticable pain I've got is in my right shoulder.... All because my belly had to filled with air during the procedure.
Dunno why but that -could- cause  shoulder pain with some patients - and offcourse me.

I expect to be fully back 'on top' within a couple of days. :)

Referred pain from under the right side of your diaphragm, and the gall bladder. starkers had it too, if memory serves.

Great to hear you're ok, and minus only one part... ;)

To think, not that long ago gallbladder surgery was an ordeal with a big incision and a one-week hospital recovery.  We often lose sight of (or never had reason to be aware of) what remarkable advances in surgical technology have occurred over the past 15-20 years.
