Help For Uvah

Community Love is needed

https://forums.wincustomize.com/412936

Guys and gals, I have been asked to orchestrate a help for Uvah effort (not by Uvah). I know that this awesome community is ready to help, as was the case with the Wiz in Need thread.

I am willing to be the go between, in an effort to see what Uvah needs and how to get it to him. This isn't about me doing anything great. I did little for the Wiz thing, and I'll be in a similar role here. It's about helping a community member who is down and out.

That said, the link in the OP leads to the original reasons for this effort. I will answer PMs with any info Uvah (Ross) gives me and I have a paypal acct. that can be utilized if needed. I'm sure letters, cards, gifts, funds, whatever can be done is more than he has.

I don't have all the info yet, for reaching Ross. I do have a phone number, and an email address.

I expect to hear from Ross soon with more info.

Anyone wanting to be involved just post here, or PM me or Ross.

I have a barn dance to DJ tonight. I'll check back around 11PM EST.   Thanks guys!

EDIT: If there are those who can't help, please don't feel guilty. Just say something nice here, if you want, or just skip this thread. We realize that everyone has problems.

Did neone and Vamps fix up that laptop issue?

Uvah seems to have access to the net, at least off and on. I'll point him here.         I'm currently at a barn dance, posting from my Toshiba Thrive tablet.

As soon as I get his real last name...lol.

I will help out as much as I possibly can Jim,, just let me know the procedures for sending funds when you get it. Enough with this being forced homeless crap in this country! We need to start caring more (take note asshole bankers and the rich)!  If you earn more than, let's be generous, $150.000.00 a year you should be helping too, and paying your fair share of taxes! Maybe then problems like this will go away!  ;)

Our Gov't. mishandles what we pay. Too many huge salaries in DC.

Thanks Tom, I hope to speak to Uvah tomorrow on the phone. I have a mail address, and a phone number. He is only reachable at the number during certain but varying hours, and he has failed to give me his last name for any postal mail. So the info I currently have is incomplete.

Neone, Vamps, do you have any info to share? Super nice of you to be offering up a laptop!!  5*

Thanks Vamps. I have an email for him too, but the one you have is different. Andy said hotmail. I have the Yahoo one.  I didn't have his last name, which is important for sending snail mail.

To anyone wishing to help, even if only sending a card or letter, PM me for snail mail info.

He says he can't cash checks without paying huge fees, but he can cash postal money orders. He has no paypal acct. If anyone wants to do something, and paypal is best for you, I can take payment to my paypal acct. and convert to money order for Ross.

I am told his last name is Anderson, BTW. That helps...lol.

Peeking around the corner, trying not to be obvious. Don't want anyone to see me blubbering a big smile on my face, drinking coffee from McDonalds. Wanting to reach out over the net and give everyone a big hug and those of the opposite gender a kiss on the cheek and a hearty thanks for being my friends and family at WC. I wish I knew better how to express what I feel. Warmth, a feeling of belonging. Loved even because that's what it feels like. God bless all of you!

For those who want it or are just curious I'll put my full name up here (just don't ask my middle name. I can't pronounce it) Ross R. Anderson Jr.

Yeah ... my dad had the same handle. And those who wonder about my nic. My oldest sister may she rest in peace could not pronounce brother so in referring to me it was always Uvah.

Ross told me in a PM that his online time where he stays is very limited. He says I can give his info privately to you guys, so if anyone wants to help, catch Uvah online, if you can, or PM me for his info.

He apparently has to stand in line to get online and has very short limits on that.

Hang in there Ross. Help is coming!

Great to see the community help and support.

Jim, i've sent you a PM.

Thanks guys and gals for the PMs and efforts. Not a lot of response so far, but I know times are hard for us all right now.

Uvah and I deeply appreciate anything and everything. Even just well wishes here on this thread mean the world to Uvah.

BTW, I just forund out, it's pronounced (OF A)  rather than (You Va), the latter is what I've been saying...lol.

Oh, and just for the record, it was not Uvah who asked me to make this thread. It was a great guy in our community that we all know. Not sure he wants to be named.

This thread doesn't seem to be getting much response.....   -_-

Guys, we can do better than this, come on, dig deep.  A friend needs us.  O:)

PM coming your way, Jim.

Thanks Helen! Bless you!

Let me state that I have been contacted via PM by another member who seems offended that I made this thread, and seems to think my "dig deep" comment was intended to "guilt" people into giving.

I am merely trying to fulfill a favor asked of me by another concerned member. I in no way intend to "guilt" anyone into giving. We all have problems. Those who can and wish to, give. Those who can't or choose not to, that's ok too.

This is a community site, this is a community forum. If I have offended anyone, I apologize. No one will be judged on whether they give or not. Free will is a beautiful thang!!

What I have found in life is that it is very hard to make a person feel "guilty' about anything, especially in these current hard times for everyone.  So I wonder if some of us have reason to feel "guilty".

Keep up the good work RedneckDude, the community appreciates it.

I appreciate it more than you realize. It proves to me what I've said often enough about WC. We are family, you, me, everyone. When your own family doesn't do and I'll not go into that here, and strangers for the most part, no longer strangers, stand up and take notice that's saying something. What matters to me most is that you care. It isn't money or even a laptop. It's what comes from the heart, the sentiment, the desire to be there for someone. When our Wiz needed help there was no hesitation. When our RedneckDude needed help there was no hesitation. Notice I said 'our'. This is my family too and love runs real deep!

OK, guys, let's not take this thread in a bad direction. I merely want to be sure that no one feels as if I'm trying to guilt anyone.  :sun:

Always one in the crowd.....  :-"

This is not the first thread trying to support(asking for a donation) to help a member.  So don't feel guilty if ya give or not give, its up to each person.  I've given to some and not given to some.  Just depends on my situation at the time.  So don't get ones feathers in an uproar.  This will happen again.
