Do you want a good game with fewer bugs or a sloppy game with lots of them?

No one promised it on anyone's birthday.  Just look forward to it (but a date would be nice).

Please keep in  mid too that Stardock is "The Other Guy"--they aren't EA with a multimillion dollar development pool and fifty prgrammers working all at once on it.  When they become gaming monoliths we can start to gripe ;)

Only thing we're going to say for now is Spring 2012. ;)

I liked Q4 2011 a lot better...

Needs extra time for the flavors to meld. ;)

mmmmmm

Sins with a dash of Titans and corvettes and a side of Rebellion.

Don't forget that sprinkle of engine improvements.

They may do beta 1st December and release the game next year about March.

Would make sense for a debug beta test turn around time. I know there were lots of debug versions coming out with all the other releases.

And as I have just found a good group to SoSE with on a regular basis I am content to play this and wait till rebellion is ready to play.

looks like ill be killing Goons and Test while i wait for this. right now sins is just boring.

It's never boring. Come online and see where all the fun is at. It adds a whole new dimension to the game, playing against other humans!

(If you're intimidated by the learning curve, feel free to talk to me, I'll help out as much as I can)

Happy to wait until it's ready.

Glad this is recognized. The best food is the kind you have to let simmer.

Sounds great, please take the time to make it what you want to release.  Sword of the Stars 2 is the current example of what not to do so I'm glad to see Stardock taking a better approach.

flavors to meld?  The soup always tastes the best when the bugs are strained out.  Get strainin' :andrew:

Hmm, going to give gemini wars a try until this is out. Hopefully we'll get a complete expansion that upgrades every aspect of the game, lets not forget the graphics engine. Also are there any screenshots released yet? Or maybe a trailer because I haven't found anything.

Check the Sins facebook page for a few titan screenshots. Also, if you don't have a facebook account check out this thread to see the screenshots on the Sins website itself.

So what was the deal the Diplomacy and it's bugs?  Rebellion will have them also so expect April 2012 and then expect September 2012 for it to be stable and moddable.

No offense to the developers, but Stardock, if you actually read these , try to post some updates.  It just seems very ridiculous that a game that was announced in March 2011, can't have more than 2 screen-shots, maybe three, and nothing else by November 2011? How about some news? Some screens? Some updates on the background story? If you take pre-orders for a game, then update your website at least twice a week.  It's common practice in the field, even if your game is years off...

Again sorry to offend, just an opinion...

PS - I do love your Sins series to date! Great work!

We're trying to time out the marketing stuff to coincide best with the intended release date. We don't want to drop a bunch of details right now when there's lots of new games coming out and the holidays approaching, cause only real fans like you guys are paying attention. ;)

Later this month I will be starting up a dev series about the factions in rebellion, why they split, and the titans they're bringing to the war.  Should run for a good long while with lots of screenshots. :)

Well damn.  Nothing like a dev outright saying this stuff, thanks.  I'll definitely be checking those out.

... lets not forget the graphics engine...

Well, they have say that they move from shader 2.x to shader 3.x ... at the bare minimum, it mean at full rework of the particle effect with new tools for modders ( new particle forges )...

As they have wrote that big ship will be able to cast shadow on smaller one, it mean a full rework of the lightning/shadown code too...

So, it seem that the graphics engine is not forgotten and will be greatly improved !!!

There is news... but not in a single topic... for example, a recent post from devs say that they will work on the Goafan's plea for custom map sharing...

That sounds smart.  You might as well wait until mid-January at the earliest to begin the publicity campaign.

Well, that's how they did it back in 08 when Sins first hit.....Wow, it's been or will be four years...

How about you spoil us real fans now, and then re-release everything later? Non-real fans won't know that it's a re-release because they'll be distracted by all the new games coming out and the holidays.  O:)
