Explorer Malfunction?

This is just odd...

OK, I know redneck hillbillies are supposed to be backward, but this is too much!

When I right click on anything in explorer, and mouseover any item in the menu that opens a second menu, that second menu should open to the right of the first one, unless to do so would cause it to open off screen, correct?

Well, I just noticed that the opposite is true. It is odd and I have no idea why it happens.

Anyone have an idea?

I have no idea why

.....because it can.

Is it possible for you to install anymore shit on that machine??

With my Win7 setup, it appears that opening on the right or left is determined if you are on the left 50% of the screen, or the right 50% of the screen.

If my initial right-click is on the left 50% of the screen, the sub-menu appears on the right. And the reverse applies.

For me, it opens the second menu to the left of the first menu unless I am on the far left of the screen.  Always. The only time it opens on the right is if to open on the left would cause it to open off screen.  o_O

Normally, I wouldn't say this because it demeans my public persona. In your case, I'll make an exception......

.......... I have no fuckin' idea.

My next idea involves a shim and some duct tape, and that sounds like it might not be helpful.

Jim, the sub-menus can open on either side, because people can right click near the left or right screen edges. I think that unless you're within a critical distance it open ... right or left.

I know why it bothers you... just don't think there's a fix... if it's even a problem.

I have the same problem Jim but it didn't happen until I updated to WB 7.3

It is a problem because it didn't always act this way and it shouldn't.

I can live with it, I just find it odd. It is exactly backwards from what it should be doing.

it is an issue from the windowblind update to 7.3. I did a system restore back to 7.2 and everything is fine

Mine does it too. It doesn't seem like a big deal though. I guess it would depend on how you look at it. If it gets in the way of doing things then yeah go back to an earlier version but me I can live with it.

Did you install from Impulse or from a standalone installer?

If you mean me, Neil, Impulse.

I use Windows 7 and DL from Stardock store, its not the only issue but I'll just wait for next update, thx.

I had the same issue (installed via Impulse); after uninstalling, downloading the larger file from the Stardock store itself and reinstalling, the problem seems to have been resolved. I don't know if you have tried it already, but it's worth a shot.

exactly the same for me on win7 Home 64.

it does not really bother me as I can see all the submenu everywhere.

Got the stand alone installer from the Stardock Store. 65 mb big. Uninstalled old, reboot, install new, reboot. W7 Pro 64 bit

with me, it the position of the second menu will depend upon where my mouse was when I right clicked the first time. When you get closer to the middle of the screen ( horizontal middle ) the slightest deviation can make a difference.

I updated with the download and not impulse and I get the same behavior on a system that doesn't even have windowblinds installed on it.

just did this: went to the old Impulse/new Gamestop and uninstalled WindowBlinds, then to StarDock and saved stand alone WindowBlinds, then ran the MS updates, 14000 and some odd files and rebooted. Installed the stand alone WindowBlinds Version 7.3 [build 310x64, windows 7] and applied the blind Prelude which I just bought. All seems to be doing alot better, more like it should be with explorer menu's and such. But my mail proggy, incredimail. still has issues where I have to right click on an e-mail and choose "open" to veiw, thats not right.  So, I am still taking up much needed computher time, tinkering with that, so may have to use Office for a while, which I haven't checked out yet for issue's.  BUMMER!!

This is WindowBlinds 7.3 bug... Look at the instructions which help you to solve a problem:

1. Press Start button --> then press Run

2. Paste a string: shell:::{80F3F1D5-FECA-45F3-BC32-752C152E456E} to the "Run" input box and press "Ok"

3. You'll see the "Tablet PC Dialog". Open the "Other" tab and press "Left-handed" radio button. Then press "Ok"

That's all. This will set all menus, submenus, context menus, etc... in Windows 7 to open correctly.

Best regards.

This worked at first but reloading a WB sets it back to "Right-handed"
