Just preordered Rebellion, didn't get the $10 discound....

I own the original Sins, purchased physically, and then both entrenchment and diplomacy digitally. But I didn't get the $10 discount?

Diplomacy shows up in my games on Stardock.

It's really not a big deal, because it's just 10 bucks, and Sins of a Solar Empire is amazing. But I just figured I'd mention it, in case there's something odd going on.

You needed to have been logged in to your Diplomacy-registered Impulse account on the web site when you preordered Rebellion in order to receive the discount.

Impulse, or Stardock? I was logged into Stardock, verified that it listed all of my Sins games, then purchased.

Impulse. When you log in on the right of this page

https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/preorder

it should show you the cost as $30 if you use the Impulse account your Diplomacy is on. (if, like me, you use a different account on the forum than you use for your games, you'll have to logoff first **on that preorder page** and then login with your game-registered-account in order to receive the discount.)

Right, so you order it from Stardock, but apparently I have to be logged in with my forums account?

Weeeeeeiiiiiiird but okay.

It's a somewhat confusing set-up, I know. You have to be logged in to the purchase area with your Impulse account. (the purchase area is inside the forums site and it defaults to your forum account: if your forum account isn't the same as your game-activated account you'll have to log out and log back in first to get the discount)

It's quite obvious really. And why did you still pre order when you didn't see your discount show up in the first place?

Because it's only $10. I don't care that much. As I mentioned in my original post, I didn't know if it was some sort of issue or not.

You can email [email protected] and they can look into this for you.

Question concerning this, Yarlen. I pre-ordered through stardock back when the pre-order first was available. I now I see it is available on Impulse for Pre-Order at $39,99 and of course, Stardock doesn't own Impulse anymore. The question is, being that it was pre-ordered through Stardock how is this going to work?

Will a coupon code be issued for $10 off through Impulse via Email when a Beta or the RTP is available or will Impulse simply bill those of us the pre-ordered $30 from back when Impulse was Stardock?

Personally, I'd prefer having the $30 already taken and simply wait 'kinda' patiently for "Download Available" of either a Beta or the Release To Production version.

You should probably email [email protected] because you should have gotten the correct upgrade price at the time of your pre-order.

I'm still not clear on this Yarlen.  Isn't the upgrade price $30?  That's what I paid on March 5, 2011.  And I own all Sins products.

The upgrade price for Rebellion was $30 if you had owned Trinity. But that discount has now expired and it's $40 for everyone now.

You haven't paid for anything yet.  If you have, you've been stolen from.

ya know, this is getting to be typical of how American corporations decide to treat their customers. It's doesn't matter whether your on a impulse or stardock account cause they are both the SAME DAMN FRACKING company. If their stupid internal twits can't figure the fact out that they are alienating some of their old-skool customer-base. they don't deserve our support!!!!

The Impulse system is designed to get the information from our original StarDock accounts; in any event.

Star Dock you really should hire someone who actually does know how to DO customer service, not this crappy shit you shovel out to us. It's quite RUDE, seeing as we pay your darn paychecks!!!

I know it's only $10.00, but it's the fricking PRINCIPLE, actually that he's talking about. if you have Diplomacy, then you get a $10.00 discount... PERIOD. not effing current corporate management practices as they are being practiced in the USA now!!!!!!! :P~~~~~

Sigh.

If I were you I'd be happy that we were offered a discount.

While it is disappointing that it expired before we were ever given a look into how Rebellion gameplay's actually going to be, your vitriol is unwarranted.

ya know,<blah blah blah>

Chill out.  You need to stop your tirades(the rest of them are just as ridiculous or worse than this one).  You are polluting this forum and only rarely adding anything useful.  If you want to be angry and immune from moderation, go to 4chan or wherever you came from.  You should for all rights be banned as harmful to the community due to your inability to post in a non-inflammatory manner.  If you were to talk to people like this face to face, you would be punched out, or at the least told to leave and never come back.

No, you cannot communicate whatever emotion you want on this forum when it is supposed to be civilized(as you said in another thread).  There is a reason moderation exists and a reason for forum rules(in general).

And no, we don't care about your problems given how utterly disrespectful you are.  If you are getting that pissed off about things, which I highly doubt, you need to go get anger management classes, and I'm dead serious.  It's not healthy, and will quite literally lead to an early death.

PS: We can call you names too if you'd like.

What I find bothersome is that I'm going to end up having to repurchase much of the same content I have already purchased.  I'm going to pay the same exact price as someone who never previously purchased any Sins content.  I could understand having to pay the full price if it were a completely new game with a new engine, etc., a bona-fide Sins-2.  Hopefully they'll bring the discount back at some point closer to its release.

Also, if I have to pay the full $40 price, do I get ownership of a 2nd CD key?  Would it entitle me to have a separate second account for Vanilla, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy?  Would I need a second Impulse account to do that?

If you were already sure you were going to buy Rebellion, than I don't understand why you didn't use your discount in the first place. The odds of the dev's introducing another one are not in your favor I'm affraid...

For everyone's info:  Stardock and what was formerly Impulse are not owned by the same company.  Former Impulse (now the Gamestop PC Download Store) is owned by Gamestop and the accounts are separate.  GPCDS doesn't offer Rebellion. The only way to get it currently is by pre-ordering directly from Stardock.

As I pointed out previously, if someone is have a Rebellion pre-order issue, they need to either email [email protected] or [email protected].

I'm not certain that I'm going to get it and I hate pre-ordering.  I don't even understand the logic of pre-ordering.  Why not just wait until the product is actually available and then go purchase it?

I'll probably buy Rebellion, but I want to hear people's reports of how the game plays in online multiplayer and whether anyone is actually playing it in online multiplayer first.  I really hate shelling out money ahead of time for a product that could end up being consolized (not Sins), half-finished, or severely flawed in some sort of a manner.

Well, I will be happy to send you screenshots of the game and the build in multiplayer system ones it's finally released. That might help you decide whether it's worth the money or not. ;P

I do understand your concerns about pre ordering however. Though in this case you already kind of knew what you would buy, since the core of the game remains pretty much the same.

Really, unless you want to play in the beta to provide feedback, I agree about the pre-order sentiment.

Which is why I preordered. I rarely preorder myself.
