Portal (the original) is free on Steam until September 20th.

I found this out by accident. I hope somebody else is pleasantly surprised as I was. I had never played it before. It's a great game.

Alas, I already took advantage of a similar deal in May? of 2010- when Valve ported the Source Engine to Mac. Still, I like the reason behind why they're offering it for free.
