Screenshots: Windows 8 Metro

In case you have no desire to install the Windows 8 preview, I went through the difficulty of clicking the mouse several times and installing it for you!  This is obviously an early build, but it gives a general idea of what Win8 looks like.

Having voiced my opinion about Metro along with fellow community members in other threads I will say that four of the five above screenshots are okay.  :sun:

oh, where is the "flash" plug-in for metro (there isn't any add-on, no flash)

Well, thank you for the effort... sure that i will not install Windows 8 on my PC since i have already a similar interface on my old smartphone with touchscreen...

Will remain with my old xp pro x64 until Microsoft make a really useful desktop like these on the video below :

EDIT : have split the post in 2 different post... seem that with the new forum interface, it is not possible to post multiple youtube video in a single post... URL are different but all video windows play only the first video link...

Video from the news... Guile3D ( http://guile3d.com/en/products/ ) used in 120 apartments at Sao polo... open close your curtain, control the light, start your coffee machine, control the door, etc...

It is how need to be a modern OS/desktop for home computer... we don't need something that we have already with our actual generation of smartphone...

I like the taskbar and look of the third shot in the left column. What skin is that, and how did you get it to the more traditional look...?

I am not really thrilled with the Metro look to be honest. I just think the tiles are too plain for my taste, especially after spending so much time with this community watching people create awesome, very details, beautify skins for everything on Windows. Perhaps if the tiles on the Metro display had more depth to them, perhaps the look of floating over the Metro display with more shadows and stuff, maybe I would find it more pleasing. But it just looks like a wall full of plain tiles, not even shinny looking. But this is just me, the concept itself is interesting and will definitely take some time to get use to on a PC with no touch screen.

I did like how the regular explorer screen looked, more polished, brighter and the ribbon was better than I expected.
