Thanks, Leo.  k1

Well, if I read correctly, I won't be able to dual boot it. It says it offers only a clean install, overwriting my current OS.  I have my laptop HDD cloned, so I may give it a shot on the lappy.

Thanks Leo!

I think you're a very brave fella, Jim. Also... whole new meaning to "Screen shot".

Does wb work on it? Other SD apps?

I wouldn't have had the courage to do that... too chicken. Just remember... no support. ;P

Also... how are you going to roll back? Will you be able to keep any changes you make while in W8?

I put a spare HDD into my lappy for this.

According to what Sinofsky said, they should work, as well as Vista and XP apps...

I don't know, and a rollback, in my case, will be to just put the HDD back in, the one with 7 on it. Boot right up.

I'll be doing the same....got the ISO....have a plethora of drives [2 EZswap caddies in the box]....;)

Good way to do it.

Not a 'real' version... just a 'Preview'. When it starts getting into the Betas and RC, I guarantee it'll have an expiration date.

Also.. if you aren't doing it with a touchscreen capable device... you're probably missing a great deal of the 'experience' from what Sinofsky demonstrated.

Hmmm... Jim has an HP Touchscreen... lol. j/k. Don't do that...lol.

Oh boy.

Am I the only one thinking that is ugly as hell?

Honestly I wouldn't bother with this build.

For me at least it is highly unreliable and so many things seem broken or just not thought through.  It is also painfully slow for some reason.

No you're not, Jorge.

The OS should detect it's not on a touch screen and default to a taskbar/start button arrangement. Sinofsky should have said a helluva lot more, and a helluba lot less yesterday.

A lot of it looks very ugly to me. But I'll take it, if it means a ludicrously low cpu-demand. Granted, it's not a problem in Windows 7 when it runs around 1%, but 1% is 1%!

Nope! In fact I'd say that a bulldog licking pee off a stinging nettle would look more attractive than that. XD

So, Apple runs all over Microsoft by making really nice, stylish, good looking things with lots of eye candy that everybody wants and Microsoft, after having apparently learned their lesson with Aero, go and produce that thing that resembles dog puke?

I don't get it. Seriously. I don't get it. lol

Learned what lesson with Aero?

BTW do not install the current WB builds on this version of Win 8.  While they work just fine on builds without the new UI, the new UI and WB do not get along though we are working on sorting that out.

If you have installed the build and applied a theme you will notice it takes you back to the login screen.  Login while holding down the CTRL key and then go into WB and disable it by switching to Windows Aero.

Ahhh, no.

But then we are only seeing the Metro stuff and not the non-touch screen set up.

As I get older the only change I seem to like is that which I can put in my pocket.  :S
