Beast Dens + Empires

A relatively simple concept that would quite easily further the distinction between empires and kingdoms: while "beast dens" such as wolf lairs would create obstacles for Kingdom players as you might imagine, give Empires the option (perhaps with the necessary research) to use these landmarks as resources instead, allowing for the opportunity to create trained war beasts.

Benefits of such a change would include:

  • greatly improved distinction between empire and kingdom armies on the tactical field
  • unique research opportunities for empires
  • map-based play-style and strategy differences for empire players vs kingdom players

What do you guys think?

I agree. I hate when I end up with a bunch of useless warg dens or whatever as a Kingdom player. I think sites like these should generate nasty beasties, and you should be able to clear them out if you are of an opposing faction, or otherwise make use of the space, ie: tame them, put 'em in a zoo...something.

I think it would have to depend on the beast den. Wolfs and wargs make sense; but for example bears and alligators not so much.

Though if the designers go down that route, then the concept should be filled out more. A greater distinction of kingdom/empire map behaviors.
