Steve Jobs Resigning Effective Wednesday

Steve Jobs Resigning Effective Wednesday

Letter from Steve Jobs

August 24, 2011–To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Addendum:

On a personal note, this news could mean that Steve Jobs' health will be taking a turn for the worse.

Mr. Jobs - I know you'll probably never see this small notice and note, but I wish to join the many who thank you for your contributions to the world of computing.

More though, as a fellow human I wish you well, and if a miracle is out there, I hope you find it or vice versa.

If not, I wish you peace and the care which should allow you to enjoy what's left. I wish that for us all.

Doc

Appears the pic was not legit,

Like they said, TMZ is NOT a reliable source of information... on anything.  It is gutter press television and has NO place in my home.

For mine, I'd rather tune into Sesame Street.... I'd be sure then that the info has legitimacy. ;)

As for Steve Jobs, he is ill and somewhat frail as a result of that, and these gutter snipes should respect his privacy and leave he and his family alone.

What I reckon should happen... these paparazzi mongrels should get some of their own back and be persistently hounded by people with camera in hand... to have all their private and most intimate moments paraded for all to see.

The media, ugh. All a bunch of parasites that'll do almost anything for a story (Look at the Murdoch screw-up for proof on that) and I tend to take almost everything paraded around by them with a few pounds of salt.

That says it all... and I'm not confusing these maggots with real journalists.  Dunno about in your neck of the woods, but we have a few actual journalists here in Oz, ones who have dignity, self respect and treat their subjects fairly.  I've had the chance to meet a couple of them over the years and neither of them seeks sensationalism or stoops to gutter tactics to get a story.

Nope, they are the exception, true gentlemen.... sadly, there aren't more of them.
