Is there some secret FE forum that I am missing?

How come Stardock isn't talking about FE anymore?  Trying to make a big surprise splash?  Is it even still in development?  Why don't you post 1 screenshot per day or something and generate some buzz!

Given that they pushed back the release, they probably had to spread the planned dev journals out more so they last until the release.

They pushed back the release but not the beta, and I doubt they will have many journals during the beta. They are busy working away in order to release the beta and thus we haven't seen any recent journals.

They may also be concerned with over-hyping it.  In the years leading up to WoM they talked about a huge number of wild ideas, most of which never made it into the final game.

Is this true?  I had assumed the beta is going to be pushed back as well.    So when are we looking at getting the beta?   Considering the game was supposed to be out this fall, I assumed the beta would have already started had that still been true.

Given that the beta was supposed to be "feature-complete", I'd say pushing back the release is the same as pushing back the beta.

That. If the release was pushed back significantly, a feature complete beta would need to be pushed back with it.

Derek hired a few of us from the boards to start play testing about a week ago.  It's been kind of a secret, but he's going to be making an announcement about it later today or tomorrow.  At first, I was a little surprised by the transition to First Person from WoM.  But, I continued to play and really love it.  Although still very buggy, and some of the commands don't work, it's a pretty cool game.  I know peopled are going to bitch about it being turned into a FPS, but it reminds me more of how Vampire: Masquerade and Fallout were changed into first person games while retaining strong RPG elements.  And yes, it keeps a strong 4X gameplay by interacting with stone masons, smiths, merchants, etc in an RPG fashion then switching to a God-view to place buildings and build your city.  It's pretty cool how you build your city, hire heroes and craftsmen, and then roam your created city in first person.  The armies are a little iffy though.  You quest and fight in first person like you would in Bethesda game, but during a "WAR!", they really need to think of a better name, you have a map of the battle field kind of like Dynasty Warriors and you assign armies and heroes specific spots on the battle field where they start and then give them specific orders, guard this, advance here, etc.  And during combat, you can change their orders, but you have to find a messenger soldier to give them the message, and I swear he gets killed 10 sec after you send him away.  But, overall, a great game.

Oh, and the above was complete and utter bullshit, please disregard all of it, posted in good fun.

Clearly.  But, um... is it wrong that to me your description sounds like it could be a really fun game?

Hot damn these are great ideas!

I was actually trying to think of the coolest game I could think of and then say it was fake.  You know, give hope then take it away, that's super fun.  I could create a wonderful game if creating games only took good ideas and not money, a staff, technical skilsl and knowledge, and anything resembling a good work ethic.  But still, Stardock should hire me for something...

You really did not need to write last sentence. If anyone would seriously bought it, it would be even more fun. The messenger piece was especially funny! And yes, you should have mention hats for the achievements.

I really didn't want my little joke to start any kind of uproar, no matter how funny it might have been.  I do try to be respectful to Brad and his board...I do TRY...

SD should introduce a daily screenshot or something. One month between journals.. it's too long! :'(

Of course, the decision to make Fallen Enchantress effectively a new game (other than art assets) has meant that its date is being pushed out to being more like a sequel’s release. That said, our plan is for the beta to come out this Fall still. However, bear in mind, that other than both existing in the Elemental universe, the gameplay of the two are very different.

Actions speak louder the words.  I've kind of made it clear to the marketing group that until users are about to get to experience the cool stuff themselves not to talk much about it.

In the meantime, you should assume that FE is horrible and will give you cancer if you play it and harm pets.

Yes, please, take all the time you need to make it to give only mild flu. Do not rush it as you did the first game. Do not over-hype it for yourself PLEASE! If you are not critical of it - it will not be good. And make sure that achievement hats have good variety.

Holy crap, this is going to be like blizzard. This game is going to be in development another 10 years, just like Diablo 3. I will probably be dead in 10 years.

Cut back on the Cheetos and Mountain Dew dude... Maybe you'll be able to join the Beta which starts in 5 years.
