Lore question: Will we have the same kingdoms in FE as in WoM?

Will we have Pariden etc in FE? In a recent screenshot you've got the Kingdom of Tarth in there. Isn't it strange to have the same players in town if we're in a very different place in the world. Especially considering this quote from Brad:

" It takes place on the eastern continent and revolves around a very different set of circumstances.  The Kingdoms of the West's philosophy was gain control of strategic resources and overwhelm the enemy through superior masses.By contrasts, the Empires of the East rely much more heavily on magic and intelligent construction of cities, fortresses and so forth. Part of that is that the East is much less rich with strategic resources but much richer in overall terrain (not as desolate)."

they should be adding more races, not taking away the best one. the only races that havent expanded east are the minor races. no one has seen them since the resoln put them in concentration camps. i am sure we will see them again soon...

What we need are more races of generic white humans, I don't feel that 6 out of the 10 nations being almost exactly the same is quite enough for me, I would prefer them all to be white humans with different colored flags. /sarcasm

I am with Lord Xia on this, we want 20 playable races that all exactly the same with a different color flag...

I say have 4 or 5 races but each has a completely different play style... Hell, even 3 races with completely different play styles a la Starcraft.

No! Empire and Kingdom should be the only hard playstyle difference. Races should get bonuses and penalties and look very different in a biped sort of way. You should be able to choose any race or nation and be able to choose form the 5 ways to win and the 100 strategic playstyles to get there. I don't want to see the Resoln and say, "Guess that means I need to counter a heavy armor army with little magic." Typifying races and nations with a specific playstyle will actually make the game boring and predictable like Starcraft. Each new game needs new tactics.

And okay, if we could get more than 6 playstyles with unique buildings and strategies, that would be cool. I just don't think its smart to try unless we are talking about Elemental: Twilight of the Titans (Elemental expansion 2). TotA from GalCiv2 was well made because it had a great game to build from. FE needs to build an awesome core game before such lofty ideas can be designed.

Lofty Ideas? Different playstyles is a main stay of all strategy games.

Apparently you haven't played Starcraft too much because that game is so indepth with strategy it isn't even funny. I mean there are the core strategies but each have little side strategies and specializations. I want a race that I can go into and say, hey theses stats lend to an early game builder, but a late game war monger or a race that is like an early game explosion and keeps that momentum the entire game.

Don't put any stock into that comment. That was just a recent way within the 'lore' to explain the differences between WoM and FE. Kinda silly IMHO.

Yep I would wager that all the same races will still be around. The Eastern Continent is just were the fallen come from, and they were all in WoM.

On the topic of all human factions being the same; some height, girth, and skin color slider bars would be cool when designing custom races.

None of the empires were present in the "campaign" in E:wom. The Elemental LORE is larger than what's in the campaign. It makes perfect sense to include other factions in FE, even if they aren't in the campaign.

That, and we don't even know if they are in the campaign.

at first glance I do wish there were races like in MoM and not all Human... but im sure once people are really familiar with all of them theyre figure out the differences etc

It should be more obvious in FE where they will be designed with more differences.

Modders have been working hard to create other fantasy races, including classics likes Elves. I just hope in the future that we will be able to do more on tthat front to create things with different scales like Dwaves and Halflings.
