A friend was after a Lappy to sit on her lappy so she could browse the net...chasing up her home town [Amsterdam], etc ...so I went off with her to the local 'Laptop Zone'.

Found a second hand one that looked too good to pass up....

....and there were two of them, so what-the-heck I got one too.

Acer Travelmate 6592 ....cost $295 AUD with a bag thrown in.

They're identical ....though now mine's had the XP Pro replaced with a quick trip to Technet and a Win7 64 Ultimate.

So I went hunting on the net to see a little more of what it was/is/does .... and found that the RRP in 2007 was $3199 in oz.

Kinda cheap at half the price...as they say...;)

I think that 'TravelMate' is apt...only if you're Arnie....cos it's not all that light.

Fun to play with, though...;)

Geez you can get some cheap stuff sometimes...:)

You are spending that lottery money wisely, I see.;) "Slightly Used" and inexpensive can serve just as well as "Brand-spanking New" and it's "politically correct" to recycle to boot. Someone took a loss when they sold the lappy and you gained! Well played!!

It's in pretty decent nick, too....doesn't look like it had a lot of work....probably some business job-lot that weren't all actually used....;)

Back then that would have been about right.... a lappy with similar specs, about $699 these days.... and somewhat lighter, too.
