video game Dreams

In order to use another's work in a dream/skin of any kind it is required that you have permission from the original artist/copyright owner to use said work. It needs to be in the form of an email or the like, so that it can be verified.

In cases of fan art and such, you'd have to ask a moderator.

I've seen a few dreams you've done and they all look pretty cool .... IMO ... every skin goes through moderation, it's just that journeyman and above get their skins directly posted to the main gallery. Also if you're planning to buy a software to create Dreams, then i would suggest you to buy Adobe After Effects .... you would'nt be disappointed .... i do most of my dreams in AE !!

To Armitsaran, I already use AE for making dreams, The software I will need to buy to make Dreams from video games would be recording Software and I would need to buy some games for the pc in order to record them. I have tried this with my ps3 and a dazzle but I can not get HD quality that way. So before I go spend all this money I was hoping a Mod could tell me if I would be allowed to upload this type of dream. I see a few Game recorded dreams so I would think its ok. I just wanna make sure. 

To Redneckdude, Do all mods on the forum have control over uploads, or are there certain ones that deal with each category? 

That is it, certain mods for certain categories, but I don't know which one mods which category....sorry.

Thats what I was thinking. Thanx for your reply RND. Hopefully any Mod will see this and direct me to the correct mod to address this. I guess if nothing else I just spend the money anyway and see if it gets through Moderation.

Jafo would be a good place to start when asking about rights and such. He's the one who hunts down our rippers...lol.

I believe you could ask Lantec or WOM and get very good, reliable info.

I believe Sir WOM moderates the dream gallery & the logons ..... to my knowledge till i was a master apprentice

Dreams.......from the upload guidlines

In the case of Dream animated wallpapers, users can make limited use of video files created by other authors provided they meet the following requirements:

• The animations used in the .Dream file is either 15 seconds in length of shorter OR less than 25% of the original video file in length (whichever is shorter).  So if you found a 20 second video you want to use in a Dream, you can use no more than 5 seconds of that video.  Anything else, you are limited to 15 seconds.
• You must provide credit to the original author in the skin comments AND provide a link to your original source.  Understand that if the original owner of the work asks us to take it down, provided proof of ownership, we will comply immediately.

Not mentioned here but covered in the wallpaper, bootskin & Logon section is "No game screens/movie & tv stills etc." We do allow some in the section but if it becomes too much "Look at me playing this game" we'll probably stop allowing any.

no....just a bug they can't seem to track down yet. When I see them I push them thru straightaway. If you upload something and it "sticks" in moderation just PM one of the Mods and we'll give it a shove.
