WindowBlinds 7.2 Trial Problems

WindowBlinds 7.2 Trial Problems

Hello,

I recently downloaded the WB trial version. I wanted to see how the program worked and such. I am currently running Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. After installing and rebooting, the program does not allow me to apply any themes. When I try to apply a theme, a windows pops up and reads "WindowBlinds does not appear to be installed correctly on your machine. Would you like to fix this problem now." When I click "yes" or "no" it attempts to apply the theme but instead of putting it, it destroys my desktop and applies the windows classic theme. I would like to purchase the full version but I am worried I wont get what I paid for. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Your problem is evident - It did not install correctly.

You should uninstall using CCleaner (free on the net) and clean all registry keys as well.

You should then try to reinstall IFF (if and only if) your Windows has been properly installed and registered, and any "patches" done at any point have been removed and replaced with original files. ALSO:  When you download and install, ALL antivirals and firewalls should be turned off.

You should probably run (after uninstalling Windowblinds)  Chkdsk /f /r  which I hope will return your Windows to its unpatched state, and correct any sector/disk errors which might be there.

You might also entertain emailing [email protected] and supply the url of this thread.

Wait for an actual person to reply or your problem will get kicked to the end of the queue each time you write.

I think all the patching and DLL modifying messed up more than just a few files if you got this much trouble. Perhaps VerTDznS you should consider using your installation disk to reformat and reinstall your OS to its original version, after the appropriate backups are made. Its a bit draconian but it will solve all your problems and next time go with what 'really' works. Like WindowBlinds.

Are you aware that Win7 can be reinstalled without disturbing any of your other apps or any data? See this thread. That would be the easiest way to make sure all files are as they should be.

Hi all.
I have same problem with WindowBlinds. Format PC is not possible and living without WB is not possible too. Trying many ways to correctly install WB (instal/uninstall in save mod, completly uninstal with revo uninstaller, trying install many versions (6; 7; 7.01; 7.1; 7.2; 7.3), manualy remove every item in register editor witch connected with WB and again instal many versions, multiple restarts and a lot of hours of work, but no effect...

Finaly I succed with wake up WB this way: Instal WB with revo uninstaller to another PC (with same system), look for changes witch fresh instal do in register and line by line change every item in broken instalation. Some keys in register is completly missing and I must write them by hand, another is looks diferent and I re-write them to same form.
It's cca 50 lines and finaly looks same in second pc and broken pc. Restart and woalaa :-) WB is installed correctly..

Uff no more turn down power our power station without warning please...

Sorry for my english

The easiest way is to get sdc and pay for a subscription. End of story.
